That thing has tons of cool parts that I'd love to scavenge for my rods!

  3. the pits were just fantastic, that the point in time when most of the cars were built they were all hot rods. one off parts, engine swaps, home brewed chassis......sound familiar ?

Hey, if you had total loss oiling, you'd be lock to lock in the corners as well. lol

Great old racer! Thanks for sharing.

Love the front end, but they could have gotten that front spring bolt mebbe a little closer to the edge of that wooden chassis rail. I got a lotta respect for anyone driving that balls to the wall.

  6. man...if there were a list to sign to get a chance to drive it, I'd be on there...

That machine demands respect. That has more style than 90% of the rods and customs built these days, and it doesn't seem like they were trying for style - just function. That cyclopean "eye" is the tits ... I wanna drive it too.

Yeah like SAWRACER said, boats are made out of wood,
and if its a quality hardwood its probably as strong as any 2x3 steel frame.

thing looks like a blast to drive.

With castor oil, and a totlal loss oiling system, I wonder if driving it long enough would make you shit your pants like the airborne rotories used to do to pilots in WWI?

There was several cars, some production, built with wooden frames. Bet it's as stout as a pop-rivet A or T.

It's the total definition of hot rods. Where did they drive this, Goodwood? I've been to Silverstone Uk to see some historic racing, and I'm telling you, these brits certainly know how to put up a good show. I've never seen racing with historic museum pieces driven like that before. Totally awesome. Need to see. And hear.

That may well be one of the coolest cars I've ever seen. I'd drive it in a heartbeat.

That would be Louis Bleriot - who also founde SPAD (airplanes flown throughout WWI and personal ride for one Eddie Rickenbacker). Early partner was Gabriel Voisin, of the auto company...

Besides my love of cars, I also love old airplanes - used to drive up with my Pops to Old Rhinebeck stadium to watch the shows as a youngster.
