    Hey B,

Thank you for the nice comment. It was in 1963, and I did not have a 35mm SLR camera as yet. I am sure that if I contacted that old friend (if he is still alive) or his younger sister, he (they) might have a photo or two. But, after that time period, we all moved away and started our own post high school lives. I remember that he was so enamored with those real American Racing Equipment wheels that he was happy to give away a 9 foot 6 inch Dale Velzy balsa wood surfboard.

It did not matter that the 9’6” balsawood surfboard did not ride very well, I knew I had a treasure in my hands. So, that shiny, ding free, balsawood board sat in our study den for quite some time until our mom told us to put it in the rear garage that was empty of teenage hot rod stuff. It only had my little surfboard business stuff. So, it sat there being admired until my brother wanted it for his own house in Santa Barbara. Well, at least it was not just sitting in our backyard ex-Willys garage having a party with other surfboards and some fiberglass +resin.

As far as those original American Racing Equipment Torq-Thrust 5 spokes were concerned, this was the only photo I could find online. So, it is not one that I took.

Ryan Reeds' 37, one of my favorite cars, must be seen in person.
Not sure on the wheels but I think someone is reproducing them.

My mom had a plaque that read "work fascinates me, I can sit and look at it for hours".
When you have a deuce roadster project it's plenty satisfying to do just that!

16x6 up front and 16 x8 out back TT 2 aka banana wheels, thinking of going to 15x8 out back and 15x5 up front, possibly 105 machined lip D or the VN109.. I do like how the 109 looks very supreme without the major offset.

I’ve come across these for sale, can anyone identify what brand they are?

Not a huge contrast but 5.90-15 fronts and 8.20-15 rear all on 6” wheels. Second picture were Hurst recaps on 8.5” wheels.

@1933_willys_77 thank you. I thought they were, but wasn’t sure. I’ve asked the seller to see the backs of them, you responded faster than they did. Lol.

  22. Magnesium wheels don't say anything on the backs, however they do most times have a date code
