Sorry but mines the General lee. That damn show infected my like a sickness. Question; did the producers choose the 69 Charger for the General because the Charger was so popular, or is the Charger so popular because of the show?

Mine favorite is without a doubt the Ralph Mouth Roadster Pickup. The feature on it in American Rodder was neat. I didn't know until then that Von Dutch had done the flames on it. They said the car had actually been a very nice finshed rod at one point in it's life.

  10. lots of memories here, but the one that is my personal favorite is the "77 sunset strip" t-bucket driven on the show by "Kookie"/Ed Byrnes and built by crazy ol' Norm Grabowski.

    Not necessarily in order of favorites, but my short list is;

    1. Columbo’s '59Peugeot 403
    2. Monkee mobile
    3. Knght Rider’s KITT
    4. Grabowski’s Kookie T
    5. Clampett’s Oldsmobile jalopy truck
    6. General Lee
    7. Munster Coach
    8. Maxwell Smart’s Tiger
    9. Dan Tanna’s ‘57 Tbird
    10. Batmobile

ETA His name is Ralph MALPH!

Edited to correct Columbo's car...

  14. I thought Columbo drove a Rambler convertable...

You guys missed half the cars on The Waltons...

Anywho, of all the cars I was mesmerized by as a kid... I'd have to say the Duke Boys' General Lee was right up there... right up there with BJ and The Bears' Kay-Dubya...

    Sam.

Columbo drove a 1959 Peugeot 403 convertible. It was rare, only 504 made.
The Clampett's truck was a Hudson, or at least the radiator shell was.

How about the vette from Route 66? Um, maybe...
How about the Ferrari from Magnum P.I.? What you guys don't like bad hawaiian shirts and chest hair? Nahhhh.
Nash Bridges fake Hemi cuda convertible? Nahhhh.

One of my favorites is the Plymouth Sattelite black and white from Adam 12. They filmed that show all over the neighborhood I grew up in. Watching reruns is like having childhood flashbacks, except the cops weren't around, uhh much.

    Cheers,
    Kurt

  17. I tried doing a search on the Peugeot.. and came up with 1958 403.
Could only find a picture of a modelcar!

What about Nash Bridges' Hemi 'Cuda? not traditional, but a Hemi 'Cuda convertable is still pretty wicked in my book

I had a big case of brain-fade on the Peugeot, I knew it was a Peugeot, or Pegot like it says on California titles.
Hell, I usta wrench on Peugeots, but they were 504's and 604's by the time I was working on them.

How about the bitching roadster in one episode of "Life of Riley"?
Or the one on "Father Knows Best"!
Or the Barris Ksutom buick on the episode of Twilight Zone. (the Blue Danube, I believe)

The # 1 has got to be since you mentioned Adam 12 is the guest appearence of the 55 gasser from two lane blacktop. It was an abbanded car in an alley they investigated
