Wish i could add more than 1 like.
Yea, i guess there's sentiment in 'leaving original '... but dang. I really dont think that anyone could honestly say that it looks better left alone. Guaranteed. Take it to the public if you must. Gotta chop, sorry.
here's mine with 4 1/2 " chop
If you cut it 2” it will look the way Henry should have made it, I say go at least 3 and repaint from beltline up it’ll look good and fairly simple job
Well I got the frame back from powder coat this morning. Got the rear end all locked in place. Not gonna chop the top.

Chassis looks great, your powder guy did a very good job. As to the chop man you can't make a mistake about that, it is your car after all. I would imagine you will second guess that choice a time or two in the future. No sense being in a hurry either way, a chop is always something you can revisit at some time in the future so you choose.
This ain't the east coast chop it
side to side, flip them over,, like ROY ROCKWELL did on his coupe...
YAAAAAA!! No chop!! Frame looks great - love that low maintenance powder coat!!
Do you want it to look badass or do you want it to look like you're in need of some Grey Poupon?
2" for me, I'm outta here !
Good for you. Resist the peer pressure, you're doing it right.
So You are assuming that "Your" choice is the right choice, like there is a right and wrong here. There is no right or wrong, there's just different.
No chop, world has enough chopped A's. Twenty years ago I would of said "Do it". But in my old age, I have really come to appreciate the original Stock body hot rods.
It may have already been said but, I think color has everything to do with it.
Also is it a race car or period build. Theme has something to do with it.
"There is no right or wrong, there's just different." Sounds a lot like my post above where I said that the other cars (chopped cars) pictured were not "better", just different. He's doing it right because he's doing it how he wants it, not how other people on a forum want him to do it. That makes it right. I also think it's right because that particular car looks right just as it is, but if he decided to chop it, hey, it's his car, he can and should do what he wants with it. But I think he'd be a fool to.....
Guys always post up here "it's your car, do what you want" You chose what YOU want, your vision. Congratulations.
Agree with Casny about the 4"
Again, it's your car... do what YOU want! Remember, opinions are like assholes and everybody has one.
If it helps at all . . . I used to have this unchopped 30 coupe. Loved the look, and swore I would never chop it. One day just for kicks I did some PhotoShop versions of a heavy chop, maybe 7 or 8 inches? Just guessing. I think the last pic is a little heavier. Don't have this coupe any more, but now when I look back at the pics, the unchopped version looks almost comically tall.
East coast style......leave it as is, its perfect!
Well, almost everybody.....
Maybe ask your wife
My 31 (the black one) just had a 5in chop and my buddy Tom’s 30 is stock with a Z’d stock frame
I thought this was funny
I had this painted and hung it in my shop a while back.
My coupe is 4ish and the T roadster is 10ish.
Though, I still think this car needs the proper stance to look proportionally correct. I really don't mind unchopped cars, I like them actually. It's just that there's so much more to "the look" than how much it's chopped or not.
To my eye the chopped version looks almost comically squashed. I get what you're saying about the stock version, but it's more pleasing to my eye than the over-chopped version. The stock height version looks like an old school hot rod, the chopped version not so much, it's more like a modern interpretation of what somebody thinks is old school.
lol. He had one, he was just suffering from lock jaw!
True. Chops like that are more fun in PhotoShop than in real life. Probably why I never chopped it.
Although every now and then I see an over chopped car that looks so, so good. . .
