I'm in the"don't chop" camp I LOVE!! the way it sits and the wheel choice(don't forget the other lug nuts)Here's the thing......It is easier to chop than "unchop" If YOU ,( the only person that matters)don't like the look you can change it.Don't worry what others think, please yourself.

I am gonna leave it and drive the shit out of it.

I wasn't going to comment on either direction, But thought you might like to hear from someone that had one with a 3 inch chop and big and little tires about the same stance as yours.
The A in my avatar is one i did several many years ago and while i liked the look,of a chop, driving it around the atlanta,ga. area got to be a pain having to stay back from red lights a good distance in order to see the traffic lights is one, Even with a prism
which wasn't great at color changes, the visor was another.
All i'm saying is if you go that route, I wouldn't go much past an inch, two at the most.
    Good luck
Never mind,i type too slow :)

Don't chop it! If you ever decide to sell it and some one tall wants to buy it, you'll be stuck. Now that it's painted no-way, to much will get messed up.

  6. Since you decided not to chop it, I think you made the right decision for now. It looks good as is. But later, if you do decide to chop it, I think a subtle chop, no more than 2 inches would look good.

a (2).jpg A Bone Coupe.jpg I have owned a lot of Model A's over the years, I have sold one of those just because "TO ME" it was completely out of proportion. This one was a full fendered car and it just looked goofy being unchopped. Chopping a car is something you really need to think about in most case's, Not with Model A coupes. They need a chop to look right.

The picture in your first post on this thread shows a nice looking little A bone coupe, but there is something missing with that car. Until you scroll down to those three pictures of those chopped Coupes it is hard to figure out what that missing thing is. then you see those chopped cars and there it is just as plan as the nose on your face. Model A coupes just need a chop to look right. Your car like it is pictured is just a model A coupe nothing special about that car at all, just a nice little car. Chop it and all of a sudden it is something special, then that little black car on those deuce rails is not just another car.

Now with all of that said that is only my opinion, it is after all the only one I am qualified to speak on. The car is yours and only YOUR opinion counts. Sense its your car and your money its impossible for you to make a mistake. That's is unless you leave it alone ;)

Can't understand why some individuals think everything needs to be chopped. Many chops ruin the cars proportions.

    Looks great as is!
  21. { mine } The only reason to chop your car is, do you like the looks of a Chopped { Hot Rod A }? A lot of people don't like them chopped. But a lot of people do. I'm one of those that do! The real question is, which are you?;) 065.jpg 067.jpg

I feel like light or bright color cars need to be chopped but black or dark colored cars can pull off being unchopped. Never like more than 2 1/2" chop with 1 1/2" out of back window.

I vote for chopping it the kerf width of the sawzall blade.....what's that......maybe .040"? Then again that might not be worth the effort, so I'd say leave it alone. As someone else said above, if you decide to chop it any time in the future you can re-visit that decision, but I'd imagine "un-chopping" one would be a LOT more bother.
