It's one of those hybrids I like to call them half Hotrod...half Custom this one being reminiscent of the early to mid sixties. Not unusual to be mixed with several brands of automobile...definitely a different period/class to your Hotrod and that's one of the beauties of this particular thread is it runs the whole period highlighting the unusuals that sometimes get scorned or take a backseat to the more considered relevants.

Smoothing damn near everything is a custom thing Verde and your right it can make a vehicle look just that. Wouldn't be surprised to see a crumpled Ole Jalopy under the smoothed exterior.

That aside even though this has a Custom side it also breathes Hotrod and the video was cool to with a catchy little tune...I would love to take it for a spin...;)

SR honestly I thought it was one of those homebuilt Mechanix things but just a real nice one but doing some digging web wise it is very reminiscent of stuff along the lines of Frank Kurtis...this stuff is way before my time but perhaps @ramblin dan may have some dirt on it. @nochop didn't have anything other than that priceless pic of his uncle's shop. So hey I'm interested too...;)

    Cool Vintage Hotrod T
    including non homogenized driving style...:D
...makes me think of Isky's T as when he was in it the steering wheel
was in his lap so if your too tall there may be issues...

    By the Way...Its a Video...;)

Okay...I have done some snooping and have narrowed down a couple of possibilities or assumptions if you like...

I will start with Cecil Funk from Illinois...he built some Carrera Panamericana Race Car, built in 1956 which is in these pics

And then another potential builder was Wally Troy. One interesting note about Wally Troy was he spent time in the Philippines approx 22 months after WWll and that's where @nochop's Uncle had those 2 unusuals at his shop...so perhaps there is a connection.

The defunct or non operational site where Cecil's work exists has connections to Wally's work...in fact they may be the same car they may have collaborated.

Anyway I Am not in any way saying these are those cars but these fellas were capable of building them and may have...;)

Thank you...a lot of the time it is just coincidences in searching for other relevant info on other Hotrods...it is also quite amazing how a heck of a lot of it has been covered here before but many times not. But again thanks and glad you find it relevant and entertaining. It is a very interesting often overlooked element of the big picture.

@nochop Your uncle came over to the States did he by chance bring those Sporty Street Hotrods over?

I'm also thinking he may have met Troy and Funk regardless.

I'd like to know if @ramblin dan has any info on the Showpic he posted. It and your Uncle's are definately reminiscent of the early fifties Indy Racers and also resemble each other.

The other thing he may have done is make one when he came over...

    Thanks for chiming in.

Yes another thanks Stogy on your posts, the last few are kick ass. The number 25 car is a piece of art, it would be a privilege to take it for a ride.

You got me. No caption for it and was in an old little pages book of an old hot rod show I came across at a swapmeet. I'll try and see if I can find out more.

Ok this car was called the Apache. It was a custom body where it won many awards on the west coast img299.jpg and appeared in a 1953 version of the little pages book, Best hot Rods.

Super stuff Dan...Big thumbs up...huge amounts of incredible metalworking in these rides...that roadster...wow hugely cool. I would love to see the fella getting into the doorless ride...especially with its show class look shoes off entry? Crazy stuff.

On that Indy style Hotrod Hybrid thanks for the extra info. Custom body for sure and aluminum no doubt. I just wonder about connections to those other fellas...sometimes it's a small world.

Thats a little more to go on search wise...it's amazing how over the years so little remains sometimes about so many stellar works of automotive art. Many times all that remains is a picture and a couple of lines of dead end text. The creators moved on to the better place so to speak but because of that one pic we know they left a very notable mark to be apprieciated and never forgotten.
