There was a fairly new Hotrod shared here recently with a Slotted Axle I was thinking it looked a bit weakened but evidently it's not a new trick...I'm sure it lightened them up that's for sure...those friction shocks are standouts too...

...this Tub was shared by the Late Hamber @3wLarry as an example in his forever popular Black on Black on Black Thread...the Thread has always struggled with getting that combo right...:D...it's still fun even with the Faux Pas along the way...

Anyone have any more shots of this standalone Hotrod?

    RIP Larry...

Brian Bass posted this a few years ago... whenever I read about lightened axles this one comes to mind! 84F85D34-FCFE-4BFE-83FF-172365D18DB5.jpeg

...Looking like a proud Land Missile this Hotrod no doubt delivered when called upon...I wonder what was under the Hood...it looks like there is no hump in the floor inside perhaps the engine and tranny are fwd giving that option as it's pretty low...

...Oh yeah that's Lightened alright......Jet have I got a dot connector to this radical Drag Hotrod...

I mentioned in a cordial way a couple of assumed typos @1-SHOT had made recently in a Thread and he sent me a friendly PM...I know he's one of those who has certainly done the walk and then some...he shared some of his good times and milestones...

He talked of his friend Smiley and low and behold that is Their Pickup they raced at Caddo Mills back in the day (57-58)...perhaps he can chime in and talk about that axle...he is a hands on builder so it would be interesting to know how that knowledge played into how far you could work it without losing critical integrity...

   ...Quoted below by @1-SHOT...

"Smiley in the car we drag raced at Caddo Mills in 57-58 while in high school before we put a chain driven supercharger on."

By the way Smileys still around as well...how cool is that...

Anyways...I hope he chimes in to share some more of the good times around this Wild Thing...;)

I would like to say to the Older Guard amongst this diverse group of Hotrod Gearheads...thank you so much for sharing these moments that were all part of the Big Picture...it truly amplifies The Greatness of the Hamb...

That thing is really cool. High school kids were different then!

I really like the dash in the roadster/coupster above. It looks like toggle switches with lights below to tell what is turned on like the tail and brake light if you're running from the law. I also like hot rods with column shift. Your honey can sit closer and do the shifting.

Thanks 37th for chiming in, sharing more pics, the details and clarifying my mixed description...at least the frames 32...:D...truly a unique Hotrod with one heck of a lot of well thought out well orchestrated modifications...I still can't believe how it looks like its bolting out of the driveway standing still...
