It is, look for more from Eddie he has been looking at getting into some family albums...his Grandpa and perhaps his Great Uncle were on the Dry Lakes with many of those names that kicked the dust in the late 40s such as Multi Aldrich and Barney Navarro, Bernie Couch, Powell Dickerson...

Tractor shell and possibly radiator in front of crossmember with a what looks like a Model A hood over a MOPAR tube axle.

I discovered that if you take the back of a T touring body and a 28/29 cowl, they line up pretty decent. It's a good way to get a little extra leg room with cast-off parts (model A cowls are easier to find than Model A bodies out my way).

Is this your car? Can you tell me more about the sources of the windshield and frame?

No Choppy it's a net find...Someone here perhaps will chime in with those details...it really has a early Hamb feel to it...

Duvall or Hallock come to mind and I always get them mixed up...they are certainly both very Traditional options for so many Hotrod/Customs

There are a few reproducing these...possibly O'Brien Truckers the ones that make the toppers...I think might be one...Anyone?

    Update...definitely Hallock original or Reproduction

O'Brian does make them and Alliance Members may get a discount that more than pays for your membership...;)

One thing to keep in mind is the cowl may need rework to make it all work...there are a number of threads on these if you search...

Those historic sites have some incredible history archived not much Hotrod but some...I had problems navigating that site but this TubTruck with its Jalopy presence surely rolled down the open road with the pedal to to metal bringing on the need for speed...Herb must have cracked a smile or two...

I am actually a little surprised I don't see this method employed more often with bodies that are "too far gone" or "parts cars" honestly. Sectioning a body by just cutting the cancer off the bottom would be a great way to make a pretty radical car without turning it into as much of a restoration project.
