Didn't this have a Deuce shell upfront?

The Edsel like Atomic nose doesn't look bad either...I'm thinking this has been cloned...

    Thanx Stogy,
I appreciate all of your words. I’ve had this project working on 3 decades, we past 2. It took a very long time to gather any information on the Waske Effect. At the time of the find, all I had was one of the previous owners saying that it was possibly in a early GNRS????
I never could get information confirming it was or not. What I did get was a picture that you have posted above. I received that picture from a fellow PRC member-historian Eric Loe who’s dad had several kool Historic Hot Rods that really set the bar for many traditional rods.
By Eric looking at a set of pictures that I had received by a previous owner of the body, he as I usually do mentally photographed this body & its unique features.
Eric researches Hot Rod history and in his search came across 1940’s SCTA meet images. These pictures were taken by Jack Stecker, older brother of the late long time LARC member, Bill Stecker.
Luckily Jack took those pictures and the car was totally identifiable by its unique body mods especially the sectioned cowl and windshield mounts.
Eric brought me info re: a name, a speed, engine equipment and what club the car was in. This photo by Jack Stecker and furnished to me by Eric Loe proved invaluable. It would be another 20years before I’d see a rear angle on that same day May 25, 1947. ( This photo by The Jack L. Herron Collection)
    05A94C02-ED66-4E49-A6C8-633CC4ECE8A0.jpeg
I know that I was long winded here, but I just felt that the whole story should be told of how I came to confirm the 265b - It’s history and how I became that owner’s offsprings good friend,
Perhaps Doc will get that Hot Rod back in the corral
    Thx again,
    CK.

Thanks for sharing Kevin, just an incredible journey unfolded around your networking...and you now own a Dry Lakes Hotrod...there's something about Hotrods that pop up that have somehow survived the retirement of past Excellence only to be fortunately rediscovered by those that revere the history many times made difficult by layers of period changes...I so enjoy the restorations and history...truly one of the Hambs greatest benefits to it's membership...thanks again for sharing this with us...;)

@Cyclone Kevin question for you...The Taillights...I remember you did discuss the use of your current setup with 4 Circular Lights but my memory is not near as vivid as many here...Did you discuss the possibility there was exhaust pipes there? The Lights in this are 48 Chev Passenger?

If there was pipes ever there a shield would be a good idea...I cant imagine having hot exhaust inside the trunk is a good idea for the street...Lawnchair could catch on fire...:D

I’ll see if I can answer this with a slight timeline in pix.
Your question was there ever pipes coming out of those circular outlets in the rear panel. To answer your question about this, Yes and the top photo is with Clem’s gal “Rae” standing to the left of its early 1940’s existence,
The other images down shows a change from having the pipes and the 39 tail lights right next to the plate, then in the later period of racing the lights go next to the plate and the pipes go to where the 39 lights were. I don’t know what the later lights were but 41-48 Chevy lights are similar....
So what I received in the last images were 4 non-circular holes that although look round they’re not identical, so I had a choice... either fill the holes and start over or look into other options. One of those things I spoke about in the Thread on the building of it.
The pipes haven’t made their way quite back that far yet, so the bomber lights fit right in the holes so that’s why they live there.

...It's truly interesting how vivid and vibrant the colors and graphic details were back in the day...seeing BxW just doesn't convey this...just amazing...I'd love to see the 33 and 40 in more detail and I see the Berardini Roadster in the background in the top left corner...that primered 34 Coupe near it is sporting a nasty chop and stance to match...

    Isn't that 66 I think 33 orange Coupe a GMC powered Hotrod?...

Any one else see any they can identify from a glance...

    I see Ike’s #99 33 3W in that shot. Saugus or Santa Ana??? A445BB82-BDAA-4FA7-B53B-A2218CAC004A.jpeg
F20AD157-3FFF-4835-B600-A8A9A85E074E.jpeg I can’t say for certain, but wouldn’t this be “a smoking trip” if this was PC3’s CK 34 Coupe long before that historic day 49 years ago when he made the deal of the decade and centuries in my world and purchased that coupe. It loosely resembles what he bought.
(I went back through my 14k plus pix on my iPhone to find a color image to see if there was any red on that pre-CK purchase & eventual build. I see either a very oxidized red or a red primer on the hood & l/r fender, so perhaps ?????)

It could be, there was no description of it...perhaps it was added by the owner sometime in its evolution from the 40s...

    Good eye Blowby..;)
