   ...1, 2, and 3 candidates...

@51 mercules will possibly shed some light on these...I am inquiring...The Hemi is going in his Iconic Merc but the lurkers in the back must have interesting stories to tell...there was a bullet nosed Lakes roadster shared in this Thread the one on the right reminds me of...

I just love the History...and being able to see them in the flesh must be iconic...

Mike, thank you for the kind words...I enjoy the big picture and it is somewhat worldly for so many reasons...

Hamber @BDUB77 did share this build in his introduction and it seems it took him a year or so to UnRat a Rat...he was not majorly detailed with pics and info but perhaps he may chime in and share some more...I'll see if I can find the Thread and share it...I normally do but I have his Handle so that will be fairly straightforward...

Thanks always for enjoying this most interesting Thread...

Here's his intro link below where he shared his very credible rebuild back to Hotrod...

Quickly Adjustable as well...how to keep the wild beast down...it sure would take some getting used to having the wheels that guide sitting suspended in air not to mention visual lost as well...

That comp coupe looks like Al Bergler's, an early version. And that looks like Detroit Dragway, obviously the pit side.

...39 Chev Tudor, It was my teenage Hotrod dream...never got it to street duty...life didn't evolve with that being a reality...the 37/38/39/40 series of fatfender Chev/Pontiac/Olds did provide a great base for Hotrod inspirations...

...I really believe this Hotrod shares visually with Pat Leighton's POW designed Hotrod especially the side profile even though it is a Ford...one thing is certain for both is they are standalone builds...

...albeit 51 Merc did identify the Model A in the garage pic in the darkened right corner was a more recent Glass Lakes racer it does certainly shared historic detailing inspiringly similar to the modified roadster in the center left of the scan above...

Somewhere in these 178 pages is a side profile shot of a bullet nosed Lakester that may in fact be that one in 51's pic...

    It's tough to find...

...this Hotrod shared above has a remarkable likeness to The Ice Box showcased in a Thread by @Austinrod some time ago...

I wonder if that was a coincidence...I think not and don't feel there's anything wrong with that either...Inspiration is Traditional and is a form of compliment in many ways...

Collectively they were pretty darn influential in the Hotrod scene in my opinion...

The Ice Box appeared around 1959 or so and always was a competitive Hotrod at the track and at the Shows...

Hambers the Year is fast winding up...I'd just like to take a moment to thank you all for enjoying and contributing to this most interesting Thread started by Hamber @onekoolkat1950 that celebrates everyone's contributions that shape and shaped the Hotrod movement to 1965...

Here's to another filled with more of the greatness that helped define what we celebrate here...

    Cheers

    Happy New Year

    Regards,
    Stogy

...Another gem of a pic shared by @100% Matt in @Austinrod's Thread on The Ice Box...

Another Hotrod I'd welcome into my garage in a heartbeat...the fella that built this was a Pratt Aerospace Welder so it just highlights the credentials that many times determine the quality of what comes out of the garage...and that said in no way discredits those who build with lesser credentials as the lesser many times got the checkered flag...

@Stogy -This thread is one of the funnest to follow, by the '60's the creativity was really cranking up and expanding. I love stumbling on to gems to share and to see what the rest of you guys find (or build). Happy New Year to you and the rest of the Hamb gang!
