WOW. Don't know if that's an early build, but it sure has the looks of one. WOW.

Thanks for the rear view, J.
    Wow again.

This car and this particular style of build is like something I may have read about years and years ago. Like something from a story. Ricky Madison or somebody lol I don't know. But a detailed description of an early car that was very low-slung and modified beyond all recognition. But beautiful. But there were no pictures. I had to rely on what my imagination conjured up as I read the words. And I got it... yet it was a fuzzy image.
    And here it is. Wow...

A myth debunked long ago. The car has no aircraft parts. This one looks like it might fly, though...

Why am I posting this is that 34 looks to have that Deco Inspiration going, not to mention looking a bit like a Tesla Inspired Artwork in real life which makes me wonder if the builder was in fact Inspired by his work...it's all good as we are exactly just that many times especially in Hotrod/Custom...

I thought that while its incredibly detailed, certain features contribute to it looking plasticy such as the grille and the satin paint...I hate to be Critical as it is a Stunning Hybrid of Hotrod/Custom with quality workmanship...some things just deserve the that little extra...and that is of course just my opinion...

Teslas original below...It's interesting taking a work and respectfully Hambing it up a bit...I wish I could have met the man and shared this with him...I actually have a similar drawing style... @j hansen thanks for sharing always...there are some incredible builds your way...some of the other pics I recall seeing your way at a Trog like event maybe Pendine even...

The Grilles and workmanship speak same builder...were they? The similarity is very obvious...but inspiration is a real deal even today...and how about that seemingly almost removable hardtop on the pickup...

George Duvall and Frank Kurtis were responsible perhaps in collaboration...I did some snooping...:)

But George was So-Cal Plating and Atlas are 2 different Companies but Frank and even George may have worked in the Custom Fabrication together...one thing for sure this was big business in the dirty 30s...

Which Atlas Car are you referring to the racer or the Truck?...maybe Citroen perhaps...this is a Sedan they also had a 3 window coupe...you do bring up a definite possibility of Roots of Immigrants having exposure to Non North American technology with that working into and influencing the scene whether it be hands on or influence through sharing...

...Hamber @HotRodsbyMouse's Hotrod...I may have shared this here before but Mouse has been making a few upgrades were necessary and it's coming along...what's the plan going forward Mouse?...plates can't be far away...are front brakes in the future plans...by the way...Welcome to the Hamb...;)

I found my post of this Hotrod below...and as alluded upgrades are a part of the big picture...So Mouse this was a tribute to Troy Ruttman...did he in fact race a Jalopy like this?...History is always an added bonus...have fun with it...;)

I think that is one of the many Indy Studebakers. Studebaker has a great Indy 500 history.

@Six Ball @Stogy I wish that was mine. Looks to be one of the stock block formula Studebaker Indy cars around 31-32. Keep the cool cars coming.

You post some cool vehicles stogy, and that is a neat rpu, but I just can’t seem to get past that grille.
IMO, it just destroys the over all look of the car. Too high, too wide, too oval ? Not sure what it is. Never really seen a barrel nose grille look right on any hot rod.
Maybe it’s just me. - I’m curious as to others opinions ......

Clem this comes up periodically and it is one of those regional details I suspect and a quite popular Hotrod mod back in day...yeah like E&J's many get their What the F were they thinking going, but it is Historically correct and many would argue 38 Ford Trucks are hugely ugly...

Not me however...but that's me...to me it's just a reflection back with proven Historical relevance...

I share this with you below as one of the reasons for my bolstering my opinion of its worthiness as incredibly Cool...

that one looks 1/2 okay, - probably the chrome, - but you really have to appreciate the work gone into the hood to make it work.
I would like to see more photos of that if you have them.
    E & Js, I will never understand.....
