I think it's just a play on the eyes though but is a hugely interesting shot and Hotrod.

The teetering suitcase, the Frame, the Headlight position, the Huge Horn fastened to the frame and the Windshield are among other noteworthy items in this shot and of course the shiny paint...:)

I do include dedicated Race Hotrods and this seems to be just that...race duty only explaining the lack of a Rad...the reason full race is included is it's connection to Street based Hotrod of which I feel are in quite a large way inspired by these Wild all Race Offerings and back then some of those Wild Racers were roadworthy.

...wonder if this ever got done...Pontiac and a few of the other many Brands had Classy Oval Rear windows and equally pleasing lines overall making for very unique Hotrod material...

It's funny how small things can change a life. My son and I met Marty Strode while looking at one of his Track Ts at the 50th Grand National Roadster show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. My son was 15 or 16 at the time and Marty asked him if he had a car. My son said he had a '54 Studebaker station wagon. Marty said he had a supercharger that went on a Studebaker. Jake asked what he was going to do with it and Marty said he thought it belonged on some kid's Studebaker wagon. A deal was made. Soon after we met John Erb in Carson City who did all things Studebaker V8 especially McCulloch superchargers. While talking to him about rebuilding the McCulloch John offered Jake a job. He worked for John for the rest of his summers through high school and all of his summers in college. He learned to run a mill a lathe, to weld, and much more. That is what made him want to be a mechanical engineer and have a machine shop. He is still filling all available space, far beyond the space he owns with mills, lathes, grinders, punches, presses, tooling......And we can blame it all on Marty Strode! Well, some may be on the HAMBers he met while going to college in Texas. :D

I always like to see how many guys cut the tops off of their coupes and how hard other guys work to build tops for their roadsters. We are a strange group.

Many times it starts with a crude vintage adjustment back at the ole farm...but I am always surprised at the lack of love for the Cabrios/Sports Coupes and Specials...

Posted by Hamber @pgan this awesome pic by Tony Spicola of Jerry Volavka’s Buick Powered Model A Hotrod...Pat says the b&w doesn't do this pic justice as the Models Bathing Suit matched the Fogging on the Sedan but I'll just dream about the color for now...:D

Check it out and more at Pat's great source of all things Hotrod/Custom at link below...
