  3. If we think about the different types of racing cars from the beginning of the century, we can immediately distinguish two types ... On one hand, cars called (Pura Sangre), grand prix cars like Bugatti or Delage...
And on the other hand, original factory cars that were modified by mechanics or by the same drivers to participate in automobile competitions.

This car was bought by “Macoco” Alzaga Unzue in 1929 and brought to Argentina. It was the chassis 2158 with the engine J292. The body was Sweep Panel Phaeton by Le Baron.
Used few time as a personal car, in 1935 was modified by Luis Viglione (race builder), and converted in a “baquet” to be raced locally. Also was added a factory supercharger wich converted it in a SJ.
This car raced 3 times: August 2, 1936 in the “II Gran Premio de Venado Tuerto” driven by Jorge Perin (possibly by then the new owner of the car), and classified in 14° position. The second race was the “1 Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires”, on October 18 of same year and the driver was Raul Riganti, and did not clasiffied to the final race. The last participation was on May 16, 1937 in the “II Campeonato Cordobés de Velocidad” in San Francisco city. driven by Emilio Karstulovic (his new owner) did not finished the race.
After the decease of Karstulovic, in 1965 was exported to USA, and there was sold by Vintage Car Store, Inc of Nyack, NY. (the magazine AQ Vol 4 Nro 4 of 1966 make a mention of this). Finally, the car was reconstructed to a original condition with a new body, remaining the original engine, but mounted in other chassis (# 2606) because the original one was modified and shorted. A detailed article of this car was published in the Argentina magazine Ruedas Clasicas, Vol. 6 Nro 20 (january 2011).

...the footage within this video highlights a mix of very cool hotrods
and a bunch of good times

I have featured some of Dearborn's Hotrod greatness here before...
maybe even the video but worth a look it has music dubbed in as it may have been a silent recording
but it packs a powerful statement...

  19. Fat Mans shop in NC built that car back in the early 2000s, I was at the shop when it was being built. An awesome car. If not the same car then there's 2. :) Correction, not the same car, thanks Stogy.

Doesn't really float here either, it's not even Hamb Friendly...o_O...remember this thread is not a dumping ground for anything that's weird...it's about Hotrods from the Hamb era or inspired Hotrods inspired from that era...and yes some Customs do cross the Hotrod threshold in a Hybrid way but that doesn't reflect any of those criteria...

    tumblr_pll0tiI5Tl1qc2alio1_1280.jpg

The same rules apply here as anywhere else on the Hamb
