Projects Tire size question

What is the widest tire I can put on a 7" wide rim without a problem or looking stupid?

 

i'm thinking that if the tire width is within 2" of the rim, you're good. So in this case 9".

 

i run a 235/75 15 and it looks w=very proportional, thick but good.

 

The early 90's chevrolet 454 ss trucks had a 15x7 wheel, with 275-60-15 on them, and the had a nice look in my opinion.

 

Hi i have a book that tells me what approved rim with for tire size. Tell me 14'' 15'' 16'' rim and how tall of tire you want.
