    Yesterday my new Econoline Pickup arrived and first on the to do list is wheels and tires. I have already ordered a set of Cragar S/S and now I need to choose some hides. Should I go with the Redlines or the Wide O's ???

  2. I would like more details on the build style.

    Mid 60's style. Black Diamond tuck seats, blue flake wheel, Cragar S/S wheels. Nothing outrageous

    I predict Redlines will be the next "big thing"....... Wide O's only look good on Factory Musclecar wheels....IMO......

    Be ahead of the curve.......go RED.......

    Mid '60's tires span the spectrum. Here's why;

    Gold line tires came out in 1965 and were the optional tire on the 1966 Corvette. Because it was introduced later in the year, I believe these were the standard tire on the '65 Chevelle SS396. Redlines were introduced in 1966 to replace the Goldline tires on the 1967 Corvette and were also optional on the GTO and other muscle cars of the time. Halfway through 1968 the Polyglass GT and Wide Oval were brought out. Then, like now, tires changed constantly.

    So Goldline and Redlines would be more period correct. I'd try to photoshop both and see what works best with the color of your truck. I think either would look great with steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps.

  11. I was just a baby when the Wide Ovals came out, but from memory of old photos, I remember 60s showcars with Wide-Os, and I always think of factory muscle cars when I think redlines, which also look cool with the Wide-Os. Redlines just make me think, "stock".

    You need to lose the extra taillights. Other than that, a nice start.

    Yeah, those are getting filled and the stockers are being replaced with '50 Pontiac's.......they fit/look like they were made for the Econoline.

    Apparently you're not noticing what nearly every single vehicle on the road has.

    It's actually becoming damn difficult to find pinner whites in my area.

    Go for the redlines, the truck would look way more period correct with them.

    I definitely like the redlines but am kind of curious why some redlines look a little faded out and others seem to pop deep bright red (like on the Pontiac pictured)??
