Technical Throttle linkage help!!!!!!!!

I have a 49 ford pickup with a 42 flathead 6 and I have no idea how to set up throttle linkage. Can take pics if needed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you flip the bell crank hook the linkage from the carb to the short arm if that makes since.

 

I have no idea what any of that means.
