Nice work, this is bad ass.

  2. Tonight was the first night back on the T
I tweaked the pedals and got the steering box in
Pedals need more tweaking then I have to make the throttle fit
Note the tight confines where the exhaust port is

  3. Yup - I've had similar dilemmas trying to fit it all in with a RHD steering box. Guess that makes us TWO awkward cusses...

Not to be a smartass, but why would you make it a right side drive?

your fabrication of the substructure for the body is quite impressive!!!

  6. VERY much so. Very tempting to make left hand drive, BUT..........

...........you cant build scratch built chassis in NZ left hand drive.

    Thanks

You'd think there would be an exeption for authenticity restoration, but I see you're in a gray area of restoration. More of a period restoration but not a stock restoration, I see the dilemna - understood.

  8. I like and agree with your logic but when you deal with a government department logic is thrown out the window

  9. Over there, too??? Wow, I always thought it was only our Government :D

You probably said and I missed it. That’s the Model A spring, isn’t it? I’ve been told that if you use a T spring on an A axle, that the additional spread required lowers the rear end about an inch.

  11. Not sure if I am using the T or A spring yet

Here are a few more shots of the steering in.

  12. Well, yep I used the T spring and yes it is about an inch lower.
Also extended chassis to pick it up on top of diff.
Rear quick up is now about three inches
Also been doing the tabs to mount sheetmetal to frame and about to go out and fold up the box to mount the turtle deck.
    Stay tuned!

  15. Thanks guys, tonight I made the sheetmetal work for the turtle deck to sit on.
Just need to finish mounting it.

  16. Today I finished a few more things to get the T complete to store at my Dad's place as my place is over filling!
Front end bolted in - still to lengthen wishbone
    Rear turtle deck mounted

Still gotta chop the screen and fit the door

Greg, I don't know how but, I missed this thread! Your build of the T is just outstanding. Glad to see you so busy on your project.

I havent heard from Dennis Kyle in a long time.
    Anyone know how hes doing?
He had a yellow 57 Chevy in high school that had the first chrome reverse with baby moons that I ever saw.

  26. I talk to Dennis at least once a month - he seems to be doing fine

Many years ago, I was building a Harley trike showbike in my house when someone knocked on my door.
I hollered "Come in" and was real surprised when Dennis walked in.
I think he was surprised too.
Even though we went to the same high school (380 in our senior class) we had never talked before.

  28. Very cool!! Very HAMB worthy. I also really like the black/olive fenderless 28-29 Model A truck at the very top...

Totally awesome build. I can't believe I've missed it. Since just about everything has been discussed I'll not add to the bandwidth. Just have to say that your building a super example of an early hot rod (gow job) and when it's finished will serve as a blueprint for those who haven't had the pleasure of seeing such a great example. Keep the pictures and description coming.
