Not so how? We agree. Keep the torque tube.
I understand the huge benefits modern boxes bring. But on the flip side I also understand keeping things period is a thing

My only point was, don't loose the torque tube and end up with a 4 link rear. Not cool

  2. So far all parts and design and build methods are pre 1933. That said I enjoy driving them but this won't be a long distance car. Slight change in direction as I use an A gearbox now.

I really like this build, I'm doing something very similar. I'll be watching this thread for sure. Thanks again for the p.m. on the bearings...wish I'd kept my BB Winfield.

Nice. What's the wheel-base working out at?

  8. Good question. Short answer I haven't checked. It seems odd building the car without the body but I've had two attempts building this car already and know I can push the wheelbase out without screwing things up ..... I hope!!!! Anyway it's 5" back in the rear and about 3" in the front.

Maybe 110 ish then. I meant to ask, what kind of Job was it fitting A spindles to the T axle?

  10. Measured the wheelbase tonight and it's 109 3/4. Front is forward 4 3/4 and rear is back 5.

The T axle uses T spindles with A hubs

  11. Today was a big day. My friend Chris Piaggi has loaned me his T body until mine arrives so I can carry on setting up the chassis and overall car.

    Many thanks Chris!

This means I can mount the gas tank in the rear and also setup the steering column and box, throttle pedal and other various things....

Are you using an A or T steering arm into the spindle?

  29. Nothing much to report as I have been busy with GMS Hot Rods - see my other thread on here.

I did buy a bunch of other T stuff from Ken
    [IMG][IMG]

And then went to a local yard sale here...

I went to an auction a few decades ago that had a ton of T stuff. I came home with a pile of body parts that look just like your strapped down pile there. Many roadster and touring sides, cowls, some turtle decks, and a dozen doors. Some day I'll get around to assembling something.
