That would eliminate about 75% of the customs built in the late 50's early 60's

  7. A gear drive instead of a timing chain, I personally can't stand the sound of a gear drive, annoying!!

I don't give a shit what anyone says. I cut my teeth on hot rod mags from the 70s that I got for mowing lawns in the late 80s. They belonged to the lady's son that I mowed lawns for and I'd get a few a week along with some model cars and old hot wheels.

Jag rear end under a tall t with true spokes . Id drive the wheels off that shit. Yup.

Full disclosure my coupe has a flathead and banjo rear but my hot rod love crosses many boundries

  17. I can agree except I'd have an alternator, just makes the electricals a bit better. Otherwise 100%

Plymouth Valiant had an alternator in 1960. Most Chrysler had them right after and GM had em by 61 or 62

I still have a generator though but fuck it how old does shit have to be to be ok. The cutoff here is 64. Lets get out facts straight

I'm with most all on the points, but being I'm 74 ,n still driving my old hotrod I put together an fineily got running in 1959 for highschool,I have made very few updates, exceptions are Radiels=I drove the POS byplys many years, just not wroth it for a look thats BS an can't tell as I go by you smoothly,an did go to alt. an chromed the headers. What no one ever is going to see is any flat paint as a finish ever or bad upholstery or seat you can't ride in for more then 5miles. I'll add one thing that bothers me a lot too,Moon tanks out front on a street driven rod,it'll pass on dragcar were they were, but not on the street, just like dragcar chop I love for the drags or salt flats, but on the street it suck the life out your body an of a ride. 20. These guys would make all those crazy bastards in the old testament look like Martha Stewart or Mr Rogers. Jesus, of course, would be traditional......
