now that i have broke down and bought an hvlp gun, and know absolutely nothing about painting, a few tips for anyone else that knows as little as i do first, large hose & fittings, i ended up using 1/2 hose, large bore fittings, seemed to make a difference. second, there is a vent on the top of the cup that would get clogged, and the spray would go to shit. a toothpick is handy here. third, go slow. asked the hippie how to shoot with this gun, and that was the first thing he said, and he was right, again the slower you go the better the coverage, and finish fourth, have an extra pack of those disposable filters handy, 'cause when one breaks, you're screwed, (don't ask me how i know ) hope this helps someone out there
Thanks for the tips. I, too just bought a HVLp gun. Haven't tried it, yet. I bought it for a primer gun, Just not ready to give up my Binks No.7. Jim
