Unless you are restoring a car, grade 5 or better bolts with lock washers will do fine. Using never/anti-seize will help when you need to take it apart later. If you are looking to restore the car, start looking at restoration catalogs for the hardware.
The thick washers are sometimes referred to as 'stud washers' or 'hd' (heavy duty) washers. They work great for exhaust man bolts along with copper (high heat) anti seize.
"STAND OFFS" McMaster Carr or Grainger. If your not doing 100 point restoration but just heed the clearence, try reduced head 12 points or allen heads, I use either on every intake and header installation.
if your local dealer has old parts books, you may just be able to get them from the dealer, it's amazing some of the stuff still available.
