Glad you finally got it fixed. It looks pretty good to me without the flames. I would say try that for now and if the mood strikes ya, add some flames or something else later. Either way you got yourself a nice looking car. Enjoy it.

As your insurance company did the right thing and stood by you (in the end), why not mention their name?

    WOOSH,
The Olds looks great with the new two tone, really tough
New look, like having a new car but, not having a new car or something I'm not sure where this is going!
Just enjoy it to the hilt!

    Looks pretty tuff.

Only thing I would do diff would be glossy paint

You may need some more motor to back up the new look tho

  11. YAHOO! IT'S FIXED!! Way to perservere and an "attaboy" to the insurance folks for (finally) coming through.. :p

Cruise in the two-tone for a while and enjoy the new look - your gut will help you decide after the "newness" wears off if you're still happy, or you miss the flames too much.

Getting flames right is very tough. My vote is to go with none on this car, it just looks so much classier.

That two-tone looks bitchin'. f you gotta have flames, make them come out of the tailpipe instead.

I love flames as much as the next guy...but I don't reckon they go with two tone paint jobs. But, it's your car, your decision. I'd keep it as is, make a date to reconsider it, say 6 months, then have another think about it. It's easier to put 'em on, than take 'em off. (So I've been told.

  17. No flames. The Olds looks too busy with them, just my honest opinion.

  18. No flames but STRIPE THE PISS OUT OF IT.

Glad to see it back in one piece and lookin' good again.

I agree! I like it without the flames.
Bring it to the Showdown and let the One Armed Bandit stripe it,( if he's there).
Hope to see you there with your Olds!

Thanks again to everyone for the input. As pro flames as I am, I was taken with the two tone without them.

I like to keep changing things up to avoid getting bored.

Wide whites on the front for the weekend drag look.

Blacked out lower bumpers to trim things out and simulate rolled pans.

So for now, the flames are gone.

Thanks again for reaffirming my thoughts!

I vote no flames, car looks great without them

better late than never I guess....

Maybe lighten up on the quarter window stickers too.

  22. I'm with the "no flames" crowd. Two-tone paint schemes do not lend themselves well to a flame job.

    It looks great without!

No flames. But if you want to make it look much more un-stock, why not consider scallops, or a simple panel-paint job? Maybe some grey scallops and seaweed on the black under the belt-line...

The car looks great now by the way. Congrats on getting her back to fighting shape!

[IMG]I dig on scallops and pin stripe too, but am trying to maintain a weekend warrior/early 60's drag style. Guess less is more in that department................... Thanks again for all the ideas!

  30. Lookin good again man! another no flame vote!
