Great story and I think the right guy got the car. The old timers deserve to be treated the way you treated them. Good luck with the car. See you at the Melt Down.

As everyone else said, great car, great story, great history.
You did the right thing for Orville and his wife.
I bet they are happy they sold it to you!

That is so awesome. Good to see someone get her and treat her right. How has the interior cleaned up?

  7. That car was waiting for you.

  8. Will you paint it blue again? I like the gray better than blue and can see it with a fresh ford dove gray paint job and a factory gray mohair interior.

  9. Most excellent!

  12. Sorry Rocky, but I think pulling that bitchin interior out of that car would be a sin!!!

cool update! That's awesome you took Orville for a ride! Looks like the car went to the right home-funny story about the broken axle-sounds like a big burnout is to thank for this car being in such great shape...haha.

Very nice car--friend is currently building two of these 3 windows--one a 36, the other a 35--one of my favorite body styles. One is Navajo Tan, the other a little darker tan/cream like a darker Folkstone grey

What a great car - and an even better story. You are a class act in the way you've treated the po. It's incredible that you had never actually seen the car until after you bought it. Sometimes you've just got to have faith... Way to go!

  25. There is simply nothing better, in the world of old cars, then a pre-war Ford in the condition yours is in....nothing. And that's coming from one of the charter members of the 54 Ford Club.

Once they're chopped all to hell....or restored, they're screwed, but nicely preserved and tastefully hotrodded....they're just divine.

It's beautiful man....just beautiful. And the story is too.

    Good for you brother.

  26. Great story and great car. I've had my 36 for 29 years. Part of the family...

This is a wonderful story and a sweet car. I'm so glad it ended up in good hands!

  29. I know of a 37 slantback tudor in about the same condition....under a shed, but I don't have the coin to go liberate it.
