Yeah a 40 wheel if I could manage to not smash my knuckles while using it and drive the tires off it. Id probably mount one shitty work lamp above the car so when I open the door to walk into the garage I could have the cover shot recreated right there. what a neat hot rod
I'm generally not a fan of trying to paint things to match 'patina', but in this case I think the fenders should be done to match the body. Otherwise I'd leave it alone.
I understand considering a '40 wheel, or even an Impala wheel...but that T wheel shares history with the car, I'd be hard pressed to make changes!
One of my all-time favorites. There would be no changes to this one for me. It has stood the test of time as it is, and that would be respected. I can't believe my Hot Rodder Ass just wrote that..
It looks like one of those roadsters from the cover of Rodding and Re-styling or one of those east coast little pages. or July '56
I remember seeing this in Gary,s shop The rolled pan is made of parts of model a roof It has a lot of neat stuff done to it.
Lower the front nerf bar, replace the T wheel with a 40 wheel to match the dash, and then paint the fenders patina body color…Gibb’s oil the rusty spots, and drive the wheels off of it! Very cool old HOT ROD!
It would look pretty with paint like the builder intended, it wouldn't tarnish its character one bit it's so cool.
