Actually, his website says the '27 T that was stolen in '62 was 'similar' to the one pictured with the late model truck... BUT, his website also claims that the stolen/unrecovered car was on the cover of the Oct '58 issue of Hot Rod... it's not, but here's the Dec '58 cover which does include a black T roadster...
I probably shouldn't mention this but other than color and the fact that they are both late '20s T there really isn't much of a resemblance at all. Of course Ts never really were very popular and no one ever built a black one so maybe they do look alike.
Couldn't copy his page exactly, but he obviously has no love for anyone here on the HAMB. </script> </center> <HR width="80%"> <HR width="80%"> <HR width="80%"> <CENTER> <FONT SIZE="+2">1927 Ford "T" movie car </FONT> </CENTER><br> <CENTER> </CENTER> <CENTER> <FONT SIZE="+2">... Hey Ryan, you should block this yahoo from the board but keep the post open. After my last message on this post he obviously read it and decided to send me a PM. So he hasn't gone away like he said he was. I asked him where the gas tank was, a simple question. Personally by looking at all the pics I have seen I can't figure out where it would be mounted in the UT. Well, I get a rude message from him showing what an A Hole this guy is. Then he makes it so people can't PM back so he is obviously afraid to take the crap he likes to dish out. I might have to reply to his PM through e mail I guess, [email protected]
He hasn't PMd me for awhile. But I've been real nice I just want to kinow what is so inovative about a drag link that NASA used it on the Mars probe and how come no one thought of it before '64 or 5? Oh and could one of my HAMB buddies drop me a note? I'm not only clueless about the Uncertain T but I also don't have a clue what F.O.A.D means.

When I posted the search, my friend called me and informed me that his wife's Brother was Steve ... he gave Steve my phone, and I talked with him for a couple hours .... Steve is fine and starting a new business venture, as soon as the cash flow starts, Steve plans to Refurbish the UT and get it back in the show circuits ... possibily 2008 The car is still in So-Cal - Steve has moved to another State but keeps tabs on the UT. As to the adolecent low-lifes on this board, I could care less ... I just thought everybody would like updates on the UT, Seems NOT, all they want to do is act like a bunch of girls on "My Space", so I'm leaving .... So I guess he just forgot to mention that pretty much none of those cars pictured are ones he owned- "just like ones I owned". The '61 Galaxy surely didn't lose a motor for a '54 pickup and the '55 Convertible wasn't bought for $300- and the cherry '48 Sedan Delivery wasn't traded for a camera- like I said B.S.! Beano- F%&* Off And Die- and I mean that in the nicest way (just letting you know what FOAD means) yer ol buddie, Jim
Gee Jim, I didn't know ya cared. As long as I live I'll never ever get the acronym thing. Guess that means I'll never be smart enough to be easy to insult.
I got the same PM...plus the block on returning a PM to him. Oh well...just a bump in the road. Can't miss them all...
I don't know anything about the controversy surrounding Elvis' posts, but a few years back we got some e-mails from someone in Hawaii who claimed he was indeed Steve Scott, builder of the Uncertain T.... It was in regard to an airbrushed monster shirt we had up on auction... As far as I can recall, he liked the shirt ( Newt's "Born Bad" Roth Studios design) and asked questions like " I wonder why Newt made the changes he did.." and " Who is Big George?".... Lots of detailed questions only regarding the U/T...and his permission to do the car in future artwork... But to please not share his contact info...yet. That was two computers and one net provider ago, but this thread brought up that particular correspondence... Ace
WOW! I just got a PM from this Elvis58 guy. I had earlier made the comment that the Uncertain T was a cartoon car, just a radical interpretation of a T....etc., etc. Nothing personal about him or anyone else. So, now he PM's me and calls my car a POS. and says that he's glad he doesn't live around me. So, Elvis58, heres the deal: I have no ax to grind with you. You don't own the Uncertain T, so why take it personal? I just have an opinion, thats all. Me, or my car, or where I live is none of your concern. Don't use the PMs to be hostile of threatening. In your world, I guess we can't disagree? By the way here's my car, I mean POS:
He's officially now the ONLY person ever on my HAMB ignore list. I'm not having people say what they want to me, and then leave me with no way to respond or defend myself. Blocking his PM's...what a lame-ass... and then putting stuff on his page directed at the HAMB!?!?
Same here, got the PM + the block, for posting that street rod lookalike (sorry) in this thread. / primerkid
OK- I'm officially jealous of this shot- his taste in cars, women and clothing defies me- Elvis ROCKS! (his caption)... A cutie, just got customized by it's High School owner - lowered, tinted glass, paint - we had fun, but it burned up on the daily 2-hour run from Lancaster to the Valley ..
He looks a little too old to still be in high school. The lady looks like my aunt, she is a evil bitch (my aunt, not this lady).
Latest Elvis PM: "Ten years ago, Steve's sister sent me a pic of her husband's (my best friend's) hot rod. Damn if it wasn't my car that was stolen 45 years ago!"
That's because he is editing his site. I caught several "fibs" on his site but chose to only point out that one. The cars, times, and styles just don't add up.
Here's my pm from"elvis": <!-- main page contents --> <table class="tborder" style="border-bottom-width: 0px;" align="center" border="0" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td class="tcat" colspan="2">Private Message: No Comprende?</td> </tr> </tbody></table> <!-- post # --> <table id="post" class="tborder" align="center" border="0" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr> <td class="tcat2 thead" style="border-style: solid none solid solid; border-color: rgb(153, 153, 153) -moz-use-text-color rgb(153, 153, 153) rgb(153, 153, 153); border-width: 1px 0px 1px 1px; font-weight: normal;"> <!-- status icon and date --> Today, 10:27 AM <!-- / status icon and date --> </td> <td class="tcat2 thead" style="border-style: solid solid solid none; border-color: rgb(153, 153, 153) rgb(153, 153, 153) rgb(153, 153, 153) -moz-use-text-color; border-width: 1px 1px 1px 0px; font-weight: normal;" align="right"> </td> </tr> <tr valign="top"> <td class="alt2" style="border-style: none solid; border-color: -moz-use-text-color rgb(153, 153, 153); border-width: medium 1px;" width="150"> ELVIS58 <script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("postmenu_", true); </script> FNG <hr style="border: medium none ; background-image: url(hamb/misc/dl.gif); height: 1px;"> Status: offline Join Date: Dec 2007 Posts: 13 Location: Cincinnati,OH,USA </td> <td class="alt1" id="td_post_" style="border-right: 1px solid rgb(153, 153, 153);"> <!-- icon and title --> No Comprende? <hr style="color: rgb(153, 153, 153);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> It figures .. Yeah, old Elvis may not want to post in public here, but he's wearing out the PM bandwidth. I think everybody that posted here got a PM from Elvis. Obviously the guy has a few "issues" to work out. Its been entertaining as hell, but if the guy actually had some verification he'd have posted it in Times Square. This has been a fun read though... Elvis has left the building....
Don't say that Ryan... Elvis lives in the hearts and minds of love sick baby boomers everywhere He has only left the building.....
Since we are back on the subject of the actual car now, does anone know where the gas tank was located on this? Thanks
The car that a lot of us have seen on Vancouver Island was built in the 80's (or so I was told by the fellow who owned it when I spoke to him about 12 years ago). It is similar to the Uncertain T, but far from being a clone. It was made from a 26-27 tudor body.
I have several models of the Uncertain T, I like the car. From the way the model builds, it looks like the gas tank could be behind the seats. The seats sit flat on the floor, so I don't think the tank can go there. The model kit doesn't have a gas tank in it. This car did run, so it has a tank somewhere. Dean
I think you are 100% correct. A moon type tank would have fit behind the seats. It would have looked cool also to have a three pronged spinner cap in the middle behind the bucket seats.
