Thomas Joseph invented the angle grinder in 1973 it was an amazing invention touted as the best invention for the engineering field all over the world. Also known as a side grinder or disc grinder, power tool used for cutting, grinding and polishing. Without it I don't think most of us could succeed working on our projects! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> The second tool I go for is a beat up heavy duty flat head screw driver covered in paint and who knows what else its not like the junk you get today were the handle spins when the job is to tuff. It was my dads back from the fortys I use it to pry things loose and tweak stuff back into place. Second best tool ?<o></o>
If my family had a coat of arms, it would have a hammer on it. Depending on the man, his craft would be reprsented by the hammer. Mine would be a big old ball peen. But I must say the angle grinder isn't far behind in utility.
I use my Dynafile far more than I use an angle grinder. My favorite angle grinder is my 3" air grinder, but it is harder to find wheels for it than the 4 1/2" .
Two post lift, up and down all day, I would have to be institutionalized if someone took it away. I cringe at the sight of a "kreeper" now.
I think your history of the angle grinder is off I have a big old one from my dad from the 50's or before. But tool number two would be my mill.
X2 on the workbench, especially if you count the big-ass vice mounted to it. If the question is rephrased as “what tool do you most frequently pull from the toolbox,” then my answer would be probably be diagonal cutters, a.k.a. “dikes”. Remarkably versatile.
fir me.. if the angle grinder was number one... the fire extinguisher would be number 2.... just sayin.
You can always tell whether a man is a good mechanic by the size of his hammer. A truly great mechanic has a BIG hammer. With my hammer, I can fix anything but a broken heart. I'll work on that if she is young and good lookin!
I have 5-6 angle grinders so I never have to switch out the wheels, defiantly my most used too, next to a hammer. After that it would be the blow gun for the air hose.
A few for thought, A belt sander, case of baby oil and a Victorias Secret cateloge.... Wait what thread is this again? My vote, vise C grips with the adjustable pad/teeth....i use those things for everything and got about 15 of em (and likely could use more)
