Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t figure these shocks would do much. Will probably get something else in the future. (These were budget friendly). How would I add a steering damper to this setup? Or would it be easier to change to a more narrow front spring?

Spring wise yes, best is if spring with full running road Wt. lbs. on it,has shackels at 45*full loaded. So shorter spring maybe needed. In some case's the upper shackel mount can be move out more, but were that can't be done, then shorter spring, they can be found custom made. The old school way was to cut an weld dead center { this were the center is held inside spring center brecket anyway so dose not flex there or show, then place rest of leafs back/ if #2 leaf on top of longist leaf is now too long=it can be just grind ends nice to fit. Just some ideas if ya find its needed.

Steering damper won't control side to side movement in the front end. You should probably add a panhard bar to control lateral movement, AND a steering damper just because. I'm not convinced that the 3rd rear link is sufficient either. Both of my buggy sprung cars have front and rear panhard bars. I've had bushings fail on 2 of the bars and you know it immediately. The car feels squirrely as hell.

Well it’s painted and done far as I’m concerned right now. Will fix things as they appear. And if it does need a 4th link it will get one I suppose. I’ve had several 3 link rears without the leafs before and no issues. I don’t see how this is any different. But I appreciate the heads up and will pay attention to it.

Started playing with the new cluster. After a bit of cutting, I really dig it. Out of a ‘50 Nash

Redid the bottom of the firewall with 16 gauge, finally finished my steering column, found a handy void in the column for a push button, drilled and tapped a set screw for it, made a firewall support for the column, then finished by attaching my deluxe banjo wheel. Turns smoothly lock to lock. Started tearing out the floor to go a little different route. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

[IMG] Tore out the floor I built several years ago. And stated on this one today. Made a hammer form and recessed a access door for the master cyl. The old floor was only 22 gauge. This has more supports and is 16 gauge. Much much better

I should really take some more time for organizing the garage, but have serious hot rod fever going on. Ha

Got passenger side floor in. So much better. That other floor really sucked. Tore my new door apart. And mounted it with all my good hardware. Definitely fits better but is in pretty sad shape. Will need a lot more work. [IMG][IMG][IMG]
