Somewhere I have a whole 1958 magazine article on this car, and it's in Southard's Hot Rods of the 1950s. -Dave
Couldn't find finished shots of bobbleeds T-RANTULA, but here's an early one. Also, a T couple that metalshapes built and I owned for a while.
Here are some of the fun I have whit my T-coupe this summer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THX6DIRias0&feature=player_embedded
Does anyone on here have shots of Mercury Charlie's old Tall T? Black. with Von Franco flame job and lavender and pearly white Fat Lucky's interior? No post on T coupes is complete without it.
I have a little info on this car, It was built by Rudy Heredia in the mid fifties with a 303 olds and '39 Ford toploader skinnier tires and full wheelcovers different headers than pictured here. The grill shell is cut up '33 desoto. At the time this photo was taken, probably '60 -'61? it belonged to a guy named Buzz Sawyer. He added the pie-crusts, baby moons and flashier headers. The car as Rudy Heredia owned it is my favorite T coupe of all time, and one of my top-ten favorite cars from the era. George Barris photographed the car around the time of this photo, it might be from that photo shoot. The building in the background looks like the same one in the back of the other Barris photo.
2 of my favorites.. But I do have to say, I'm absolutely digging this one! Pretty close to what I'd like to build next.
I got to the point in this build where I drive and build then drive and build some more. I may never reach that all done day. But then I like doing both so why not. Some day paint and interior. Really need a heater and windows this winter.
mine from a couple years ago, blast to drive putt a saab convertible rear seat in it fit nice and was comfortable, had to be me and the wife did several 1000 mile trips on it.finishing a lake modified, think i will look for another coupe when this is done
Dont know how I missed this thread for so long....This is my first T project that never made it to the street. It was pretty rough so when I found a nicer body, I sold this one and started all over again.
But then I found the perfect body in a field outside of Wichita, Ks and that is my current T coupe project. Was supposed to be a one year project, but 4+ years later and its still not on the road!
