  1. Here's one I found in an old photo album, I have more but I need to find them . they would be packed away in boxes of old photos. Will be fun to dig them out.I think this is Nats 82 006.jpg 008.jpg 007.jpg

Yes, very true, but if you look very closely, the emblem has an entirely different meaning! A couple of friends locally here that were part of the rather close knit "group" that ran together in the seventies also have copies of the little silver or pewter pin that is the emblem in question... One has his going to me in his will! The actual details of the emblem are a bit graphic to describe on a family page, but the wings... Well, they really aren't wings. My buddy Don marks refers to his as his "family crest".

My grandpa Jerry Schwabenland spot painted the Jim Ewing superbell coupe in the late 70's early 80's here in Fresno ca. When Jim was changing the engine out to the Buick v6. My grandpa smoothed out the Buick v6 block and painted It red for him. The coupe had chips all over from Jim enjoying it over the years my grandpa said he did at least 10 spot jobs on the car. They were good friends he told me that Jim Ewing bought the orange paint for the superbell coupe at a yard sale it was actually Airplane paint. I have pictures of the coupe around some where from when it was in my grandpas shop. I'll find them and post it.

  5. BTTT...Parked next to my 41 Chevy at Andy's annual garage party in MD. :D 2nd pic is from inside the Super Bell Coupe taking photo of it's owner, Frank Morawski with my 41 in the background. Not sure who took the photo.

I don't think I would do that. You may not know the significance of it.

The only thing wrong with this thread is that it is too short. If anyone has more photos of the SUPERBELL COUPE please post them. Thanks to all that have posted as I have really enjoyed it...……….

I am just beginning a project to build another on the ground, nosed, international orange 'super bell' coupe powered by a turbo charged taurus 3.2 SHO motor. Any additional pixs you can post would be appreciated. Gonna be cool.

One of my most favorite hot rods.
This past couple of years I have been doing photochopped magazine covers. Magazine covers for my own enjoyment and as a creative challenge to myself. I have done a few featuring 'The Superbell Coupe'. Here's one I did recently. Which has a certain amount of irony about it, when one knows the story of the late Jim Ewing. But from what I have read and heard about him, he would love the image used on this cover.

jtbender, thanks for you response. The guy that built the nose(Kenny Ellis?) is he still alive? I would think he built a wooden buck to make the nose. Maybe its still around somewhere?...………...

One of the fiberglass places used to offer a very similar nose back in the 90's. Polyform maybe? I wonder if they are even still in business?

Poli form has a web site and advertise a NOSE but I couldn't get a picture of it. I plan to call them and if it's anything like the superbell nose I may get one for no other reason than garage art...…...

Is there an actual website for Poli-Form? In a post almost a year ago I mentioned if someone was operating with that name it was not the original founder, Dick Williams. At that time
@Weedburner 40 said that Dick was in a nursing facility.
