    thanks to many posts on here dealing with open drive line conversions the kids built this, not too shabby for a bunch of kids who had never used a lathe before...

    Yes, great job, but was it just an exercise in machining? Do they know what it's for and why?

    yes they do know what and why, they have built the entire rest of the car it is going on!

    Inquiring minds want to know, including mine. When I was teaching shop class the "why" was just as important as the "how" part. That is a nice looking piece for an early effort.

    maybe try searching my name, should be quite a few pics and even a video of the engine...
    some old pics may be gone as we cant post pics with students so I went back and deleted some...

    the yoke is off an '84 S-10, I suppose you could use just about anything depending on what you have around? I am going to shorten and use the S-10 driveshaft so that end of it will all be off the shelf stuff, I can get the seal number for you if you want, just cant find it right now...
