Ive heard rumors recently that the "The Ruggiero Mercury", which was sat in a field in Arizona for years before being customized, is making its debut at the GNRS this year. Does anyone know of this Merc, or if the rumors of its debut are true?

Good call Sage. Any truth to the rumor that it was chopped years ago by slddnmatt at Townsend's Rod & Custom? Post some pics if anyone is down at the GNRS. I will be there tomorrow to check it out.

Thanks Bad Bob. Just messing with ya. slddnmatt did an amazing job on the chop and other metal massaging; a good man and a friend to this day. I spoke to him this morning, as I do most weeks. Bill Ganahl of So. City Rod and Customs was also a pleasure to partner with. Hope to see ya at the meet and greet.

I've been eyeballing the Merc everytime I walk by this weekend. I got to chat with Bill and Pat a bit too. Good people, BEAUTIFUL car! I look forward to studying it more over the next two days.

I saw this beauty also. Went back a few times to admire it. What a great car! Matt Townsend did a perfect chop on it and the body and trim work was flawless! Gave me alot of motivation to get fired up on mine! Great work!!

Too funny! I didn't know THAT was your car, Nick! I was parked inside right behind you the whole time! (The blue '55 Chevy with the silver flaked roof)... :)

Not a custom guy, but that Merc is Gorgeous. Great proportions, and fantastic paint. Who shot it?
