Just got home from the ROC. What a great show, it was a who's who of hot rods. The quality and variety of cars was unbelievable. There were cars there from all over the US. The venue was outstanding and the the job the boys from the Hot Rod Garage plus the city of Bartlesville did was outstanding. For a deuce bigot like myself it was heaven. It's a must attend show. Sorry no pictures but I'm sure someone will post some.

Ditto. I went last year as well. It’s a great event if you love traditional hot rods. You won’t find this many quality cars in one event.
My car isn’t traditional enough(candy gold ‘32 5 window) but it pays homage.

  3. @krylon32 , sorry I missed seeing you, Gary. Would have enjoyed the chance to share my experience in a well traveled rod with your fine chassis.

Speaking of a lot of 32's at one show, a group of rodder's from home have a zoom get together every Thursday evening. This week I was broadcasting live to them from the hotel parking lot. After about six or seven cars, one guy asks, "is there anything there besides '32's?"

I’d venture a guess that 75% were ‘32–‘34 fords. It would be great to see more ‘50’s cars and customs, but I’m not complaining. I know the guys at HRG are hoping for some more variety next year too. It was a fantastic show. Felt great to get out and see some folks from around the country I haven’t seen in a couple years. The most impressive car show since I went to the Revolution at the Power Plant in Austin a looooong time ago.

Here are my pictures, hope you don’t mind. Also gotta say that the little “reliability run” on Friday might have been the highlight of the weekend. I have never had much of an appreciation for Oklahoma until now and it is beautiful up there.

Continued. I think it was pretty obvious that Cory and Ashley Taulbert’s ‘33 was the hit of the show. Fantastic car, maybe the two nicest people I know, and Cory can add an award winning 5 o’clock shadow to his growing list of achievements.

Hundreds of cool cars. The photos of the reliability run with cars spanning forever down the road are so cool to see.

John Jackson got some good video

I tried to register both of my cars, but never heard anything back from the organizers. I just assumed it was invite-only for big buck '32-40 Fords. Surprised to see anything else. Sounds like a good time.

I finally got to see your 40 Gary, wanted to say hi but , uh, you seemed to be napping. So I just looked and moved on.

They were limited to 350 cars, so you have to register early. It is my understanding that Woolaroc is involved in the limit. Believe me there were other than “big buck” cars there. I was. But the beauty of the event is drawing the best cars from across the country for the rest of us to see. Even if you can’t get registered it is well worth the visit as a spectator.

Yep, you just need to get registered early for next year once they open registration. Your cars would definitely fit in.

  20. I drove down from KC and parked my turd with the other cars that weren’t registered. It was a great show!

Saw your car there Guthrie, but missed seeing you. Well, maybe I did, but don't know what you look like.

Yea, we were there which is much of why I know that @Gotgas would be accepted. Not sure how to describe myself other than I have a flattop and long grey goatee and have my cheater glasses on top of my head normally. But, that might describe several folks there.

  26. Dang it, Gary, I really would have loved to catch up to ya. I was there in my '40 stake truck this year and took my unwashed '40 coupe there last year.

Saturday evening, I was talking to Brandon and Jason, and they told me to bring my beater '40 panel next year, so I can guarantee that it isn't all about the high dollar builds.
