Blessed to be able to drive a kustom to a Starbird show.

    Hello,

Nice cruise to the Peninsula in Balboa. Hope your old car did not bottom out on the entrance and exit ramps. Those ramps are killers for old suspension vehicles. (lowered or not.) That ferry service has been running since back in the 60s. They have the right of way and even the sailboats have to tack to stay away from the daily crossings.

The sun is finally out and the skies are clearing. The sand at the Balboa Pier are some of the whitest sands anywhere. But, watch out for the bottom at the surf break. It slopes quite fast and for little kids and even adults, the drop off is enough to get anyone in trouble. Now, that the waves this week have picked up a Southern Hemisphere or Tropical Storm swell, it is all the more dangerous. Be aware...

When the big swell does its thing for the time period, there is usually a riptide or rip current that runs along the shoreline. It is usually strong. Just swim 90 degrees to the movement directions. Don't panic.

Well, enjoy the beach. We went there from the 60s as teenagers and then when our granddaughter was old enough to go to the beach, that white sand area near the pier was her/our favorite.

    Jnaki

So Cal beaches are a little hazy, but the afternoon sun and wind should clear things up a little better.
