when do they announce the winner, in the rules it said "winner will be picked on or around 9/22/10"

  3. I got some great pic's of it last night at the Motorama. Talked to Troy for about an hour, while he walked me through all the details of the car. The engine is amazing!!!! It will have about 400HP at the rear wheels after he gets the computer reset.

Here's a pic of Vin. He was super stoked and beside himself that he won the truck. It was my first time seeing it in person. It was kick ass. Troy and his guys did a great job. So a big thumbs up to them and the build partners.

One more update on our winner, Vin. When Troy and I got a chance to really meet and talk with him over dinner, turns out he's a lurker here on the HAMB!

Thanks again for everyone's interest and support. The truck is amazing. Troy and the HHR team knocked it out of the park. I hope many of you get a chance to see it, before we give it to Vin at next year's Indy 500.

While I didn't do the truck justice at Saturday's Optima Ultimate Streetcar Invitational, I ran it HARD! (and didn't wreck it, so that's good!). We may not have been fast, but we WERE the oldest model car there... And even more, no one can dispute that we were the FASTEST car there on bias ply tires! :)

I had the wheels made. I designed them to by replicas of early Halibrand magnesium Indy car wheels. But in aluminum, and sized for this application.

    Rears are: 18 x 6, with Firestone 8.00 - 18 Indy car tires
    Front are: 16 x 5, with Firestone 5.00/5.25 - 16 tires

    Well, I guess I'm not a lurker any more . . . but I am a lucky SOB.

Honestly, I still can't believe it. It's just the coolest thing that has ever happened to me (aside from my wife and kids, of course). . . And I can't say enough nice things about Josh and Troy - they are really excellent guys. The work that they put into this project really shows, and pictures do not do justice to it - it's a work of art. If you have the chance to see it, you really should. Thanks! Vin Paladini

By the way, hat's off to Troy's crew and all of the other folks who worked on the RPU - I really enjoyed meeting you and admire your really fine work.
