This weekend was probably the best hot rod event I've ever been to!

Got home a little while ago, what an event!!!!!! Have some video and pics to share over the next day or so.

Got a good video of Mel surfing his Indian.

 

Just got in off a 5hr drive home, all I can say is wow, I stayed at the starlux, the hotel was awsome, the band was awsome.the crowed was amped up, everyone I met was very nice to talk to, the race was intense. .I watched all day from pit road, so got to see everything first hand. Helped some guys get their pedal powerd bikes running, I beleave they we're the guys from the movie white nuckel, they were super thankful to my brothwr inlaw for helping them out, I got to meet and hang with richie whalen.from the rolling bones crew, ill Just say this he is a hell of a guy, funny and very insightful...thanks for the laughs, I also hung with some old friends andy thunderbird esq, sorry for dropping the beers on you.hahaha,, also met 2 super nice guys, mr Santiago, and his son mike Santiago who built 2 traditional single seat over head banggers, mike Santiago is the young guy who took out all the competition on the sand in the banger class, he built that cool 27 race car with a over head conversion, welded differential, vintage hand pump. He was a very humbled young man, he in every single way deserved to win that 1st place price ....all in all a very good drive down in my 50 shoe box ford, with the family. .can't wait till next year....thanks mel and the oilers for anotherone in the bag.

Just got home! What an event, crazy shit indeed!!!!!!

70 foot bonfire on the beech, crazy fog during the races and at night....was like a zombie movie!

Mike Santiago beat all the V8`s he raced against also, with the single seat banger.He ran the piss out of it, wound it up tight all day and it stayed together somehow.Awesome show Mike.

 

Wow...mike took out all the v8's as well, hell of a kid ...couldn't have happend to a better guy...congratulations to him and his father ..

Hey did you guys invite the Honorable Governor??? Seeing his interest in and fondness for the shore, He should be invited to the the Grand Marshall, next year. If he can't make it I'm sure he would send a rep, that would get you guys some good ink. How much economic development do you think your club brought into the area, how much do you think it cost the state to host the event. Big money on your side of the books there.

You and the Oilers club should get a Day Proclaimed for you.
