    Here's another idea for you:
I gave it European custom look. Shortened her up to a close-coupled 2-door touring sedan.

Great idea with the hood and moving the radiator! I’m also thinking of adding a gold flake bed cover.

Can you raise the bed a couple of inches and add a bed cover? I’d like to see the bed cover in black and in gold. Thanks!

I wondered how it would look with the "hump" left in the trunk area...that's a very cool concept! Thank you!

there has been one of this configuration,
I think the other one was a PLYMOUTH,
However it was not as well done, but the guy said "he worked with what he had"[IMG]

This ones not a cruiser. If he would have asked for cruiser skirts, lowered, etc I would not have mentioned it. In 1955 my dad bought a new Sunliner; on the lot was a White one with a Connie and a mountain green one without. I was 11 years old and he saw my disappointment when he bought the green one... I didn’t realize that the white one would not fit in our garage.

If someone is going to spend that much time cutting a sedan into a coupe, why not do something unique? Here's a
    European version of your Sedan.

I like that, but wonder how it would look with a more hot roddish tire/wheel combo...

We are going to two door this car. I know it will look just like every other two door 56 around but what the heck. Would someone two door it?

Here's a quick and dirty one for you, I'm sure some of the other guys could do better.

That said, I've done several of these 2 door conversions, and I just finished up a '57 that turned out great and I took a lot of reference photos, was hoping to make a sorta build thread soon but if you're cutting into this car and you have questions let me know, I might be able to help.

So now that we all got the nose straightened out – You want the glittery piece of plywood to be the focal point of your great little pickup?

  19. Something i was asked for elsewhere. This is my first go at it, creating what a Ford factory version of this might have looked like. I´ll do a more custom version later on, but i wanted a baseline start point. Makes you wonder why Ford didn´t do this, instead of making two different five windows.

  20. Madfish is correct about it taking a lot of work but I'm still into the coupe style custom..If you have enough "Want TO" anything can be done. Here's another rendition of the modified sedan...

Looks like a 47 dodge coupe maybe that’s why ford didn’t do it they wanted something no one else had at the time. Just my two cents

  22. Which would have put them both on the drawing board at about the same time, I guess.
Also Ford had that 'house style' of roof, as they already did similar on the 41 Lincoln Zephyr, some years before.

About 10 years ago, this thread is what inspired me to learn how to edit photos. I just realized I've never actually shared any of them.. So here's a couple of my early efforts.

  26. Here´s a more custom version of the 48 3w. Added 47 Caddy style door sections and a gentle curve to the swage lines on the front and rear fenders, as they´re straight normally.
