These photo shops look great. What is a good inexpensive program to buy so I can attempt my own sessions

  4. You can get Photoshop itself from Adobe - the old CS2 version - as a free download.

  5. GIMP is free, PaintShop Pro is about $60, and PhotoShop's pricing is odd...and expensive. Maybe you can find a older, used version from someone who has upgraded.

  6. It´s FREE to legally download from Adobes website - I keep telling people.

  7. CS2, as you pointed out, is available, but aren't they up to CS6 now?

  8. I tried this few months ago, I think, and I thought it said it was like a 90 day trial download. I better go back and check it out again.

  9. Crud...tried to download CS2 off Adobe's site and got this:

"Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 products, including Acrobat 7, because of a technical issue. These products were released more than seven years ago, do not run on many modern operating systems, and are no longer supported. Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products."

Do you have a link we can use? I gotta get it! :)

  10. I'm with you on that. A friend is working on a '47 Ford convertible and was thinking about what grill to use. I did a rendering using a '40 Chrysler, which looked pretty good, but he was adamant about using something newer than his car. If it looks good, do it!

Anyway, anyone have a '47 Packard 2-door? How about a chop & drop?

Gimp is free and is what I prefer.

  13. I read all that and installed and used it anyway. Haven't had a problem though my laptop is a couple of years old. Costs nothing to try it.

    Gorgeous!
Reminds me of Richard Ratty's '46 Packard, my all-time favorite custom:

  19. Can someone narrow this axle?
In this pic it's 49" king pin to king pin.
I'd like to see it @ 46-45" kp / kp removing it on either side of the frame before the bends.
Fuzz out the clamps if you can.

    Thanks a bunch !!!

Kinda subtle, but is this what you're looking for?

  23. Thank you.
Very subtle, indeed. Do you think that was about 2" per side you removed? The axle is around 2" thick for a gauge.

Good question.....now that I'm looking at it more closely, it's probably around 1 - 1.25 inches cut out. Have a look at the original.......

I can cut out a bit more if you'd like.....

  25. According to my layouts, I can cut 2" out of each end.

Can you take it to 2" ?

I like the colour you went for so I borrowed it.

I was thinking why not just build a lower valiance for the car, fills the dead spot and keep the grill looking good to me. (I like where it sits.)

Thanks LN7 and bob. I really appreciate it. I do like the valance. I have been thinking about doing that. It nice to see it on the car. I also like the red.
