Here is a mild custom version.
Deleted: mudflap, door handles, fender mirror
Added: 1960 Oldsmobile grille, Thunderbird wire wheels.
Body work: extended the strakes on the fenders and hood to meet the chrome lip. Red metalflake paint on the roof.

The Thunderbird wire wheels might be a bit excessive on a station wagon, but some swap meet Tru-Spokes or similar would work just as well, too.
What I was actually looking for was some '64 Galaxie 500 XL tri-bar hubcaps, but couldn't find a good photo to use.

When I searched for "steel blue", the colors were all over the place. This is one of the samples I found...

It appears to be maybe a '63 or '64 Mercury Montclair.

  6. Thanks Mo. Never even seen a photo of one before. Kind of cool though.

If you saw a picture of one of those Mercury's with the Breezeway rear window, you might not recognize it. Same body but the roof is totally different at the rear to allow for the back window to roll down. My uncle had a '65 Montclair Breezeway when I was a kid and we loved to sit facing the back and stick our feet out the rear window.

It's a 64 Same body as my car but that one is a lower trim level.

  9. Ah right! Colour and wheels was throwing me off.
And you´re right - I´d never have guessed it was the same as the breezeway.

The original photo had remnants of additional trim in it. I just "filled" the holes and so on, because I thought it was a cleaner look:

N.Ozols thanks for your work. It looks great and really gives me an idea of where I want to take this build. I like the blackwalls, and the copper pinstripe on the wheels really makes them pop. Thanks again.

Hi All, Could someone change the color of the roof on my 66 ford falcon. I'm thinking of going with a 'light bronze' or 'silver' color metal flake. Very much appreciated if someone has the skills and time for this request.

a long shot, as I dont have a good side shot of my M5 Studebaker,
Could one of you Gurus do a green and black fendered rendering of an M5 on wide whites and red rims....low but not in the dirt.
I have a vision kind of early 50's rod look...
But alas I dont have Photochop talents.

    regards Bruce

In the '80s a buddy of mine had a two door version, believe it was a Monterrey, that came from the factory with a 427 and four speed. What a blast it was to drive! He sold it for $400.

I just layed this image over it and used bits of the hood to make the roof.

54 Caddy, hope you don't mind that I used your picture as a starting place. That makes a great looking car unchopped, but if I was going to chop it, this is what I'd do. The chop happens above the drip rail and through the windshield. just enough to bring the top of the windhield in line with the side windows and to level out the top.

    Bruce:
I found a Stude M5 in the colors you wanted and did a little cleanup.
Recontoured the rear roof above the window top.
    Bobbed the bed.
    Dropped with a slight rake.

The cab could use a 2" sectioning, but I thought that was beyond what you wanted.

  28. Hey masters of the photoshop. I did my best with paint and well it wasn't very good. We are considering building a chopped '31 Ford Vicky. So we're trying to get some ideas. Can you somebody with more skill than me chop this Vicky and put my 16" kelsey hayes on it? Thanks guys so much!

Ok well I started another thread before I knew this thread existed. So here is what I would like. I did't know it was called watson paneling. So yeah watson paneling. But with the existing colors I do not want to paint it right now as it rund and drives and want to see if I can do something cool with the colors it came with.. here is the car before

I am not very good with photoshop but here is my idea. I want to keep it simple, something like this I could do myself in a day, and then drive the thing!

    thanks guys!
