I hope this is close to the color you were looking for Rajo Special. I couldn't figure out how to do a metallic but maybe this is kinda close, sorta.:D

I would like to ask a "favor" for my 15 year old daughter. We are building a Fairlane similar to the one pictured, she wants the Fairlane to be green like the Chevelle no stripes , and no scoop coming out of the hood (on the Fairlane).

    Thanks, Joe

I can't thank you enough Mr Jynx, she will be as stoked as I am, That looks sweet! I appreciate the addition of the chrome bumper as she was asking which way would look better on that as well.

We have been working on this car for two years. We are currently putting in a M-II front suspension and she is learning welding skills as we go (not on the suspension).

Many Thanks, from Joe (Dad) and Kasey !!!

I like your truck. I'm still trying to learn GIMP, so I took a stab at it.

Sorry, but I haven't figured out how to make stuff look shiny yet. And I shouldn't be allowed to choose the colors either, ha.

  19. Don´t have any meaningful way to measure it, so I just eyeballed it until it looks like what I think is right.

    James D,

I agree that eyeballing is the best way to get it to look right. But if you need to translate that into inches (say for an actual chop later on), here's a way to get a good estimate:

Pick a part of the car in the photo with a known size and use that as a ruler. For example, in this photo, the wheel is probably a 14". Exactly half the diameter = 7". Now you have something to compare.

Just thought I'd add something I experimented with just a while ago.. Took me a little over 20 minutes. I was playing around with colors on a particular roadster, namely Tom Branch's deuce roadster. Who doesn't like that car, right?

But.. What would it look like painted Candy Red? Now you know.

It's a very rough rendering and you can still see gold in some spots. This was just a quickie to see what I was capable of doing. I'm a graphic design student so this is good practice for my academic career. :D I'm going to keep playing with colors. I'll upload them on here.

Here's kind of a neutral brown color, almost chocolate like..

How about a green similar to British racing green?

  25. Could someone paint this two tone with a dark blue body and maintain the white top? Also, please let me know if the image doesn't load, I'm new to posting pictures

I suck at changing colours, but I think that a black cherry body and red fenders would look cool!

Roof looks a little flat, awesome lean, can you lower the whole roof with this lean?

Another attempt: roof looks better? I kept it as low in back as before, but I don't think it looks as lean-y. I'll play with it some more tonight. I think maybe if I can take a little crown near the b-pillar, it might get the lean back without messing up the roof again?
