Projects The Pagoda City Coupe

  1. Kudo's to Jerry, that's a nice stitching job. I've seen much less attention to detail, from a pro.

All mounted up and it really fits the car well! Jerry did an amazing job! Now to put some miles on the car and break the seat in!

Gonna roll up a roof insert panel next week and try and get it all together by Jalopyrama!

Spent last evening rolling up a roof insert for the coupe in my wheel out of 20 gauge steel. Isn't perfect but it should lay nicely when clamped down. Going to weld some studs into the edges that will go down through the roof channel and clamp it to the roof. Then off to Jerry for padding and pleats. Pretty excited to have the car more "finished"!

Going for a look like this for the top minus the multi-colored pleats.

Haha true! But I have this vision of a cool padded/pleated insert in my head I can't get out!

Roof insert all rolled, trimmed, and 28 studs welded in for mounting. Once all of the studs are tightened down it really pulls down nicely. Put a quick finish on it with the Contour SCT so I could primer it. Jerry will be wrapping it next week and should hopefully have it back on the car next week sometime too!

Jerry was quick with wrapping this and I got it installed tonight. I still can't get over how nice of a job he did! It fits nicely and really makes the car look "finished". Just need to tie up a few loose ends and just keep putting miles on it.

The top turned out great and completes the look of the coupe. I was going to fill my roof then leaning to install one of those sliding ragtops. I think I will go with something like this. Thanks for sharing.

I need to make a decision on what I'm doing haha. I'm definitely coming out Friday. Just need to decide if I want to set up a swap meet space or not. If I'm feeling lazy I might park it at the Eastwood booth on just Friday.

Thanks guys! I took the car out to Jalopyrama which was one of the goals for the car this summer, so that was pretty cool! I have a handful of small tweaks I want to make to the car this winter, but overall the car did really well and is a blast to rip around in.

Couple photos others took of my car at the show. I was too busy hanging in the swap and talking to friends!
