I do agree the Frontenac bits are pretty neat. I seem to recall that they had little red maple leaves on the hubcaps, and the steering wheel center ornament.

Twenty years ago when a friend had a couple Falcons we visited a guy with two Frontenacs, he let his kids jump up and down on top of, and wreck one of them. I was pretty shocked that he would let his little darlings do that.

I'd like a Atlas 7b shaper so I can machine some splines for a transmission project.

One thing that I'm surprised isn't growing on trees is a decent set of Ford 15" steel wheels w/ 5x 4.5" from the 70s 80s and 90s. Every time I find a set they look like they've been sitting on the bottom of a lake for 20 years.

...that's because you're in the rust belt.
Sadly, I junked a nice set recently as I simply have too much stuff.

My brain sometimes. Oh, and my misplaced Magic Air fan motor covers. Hmm, where are they hiding in the shop?

A happy update to my unobtainium post #106, while doing my weekly search of local auctions I found a 1947 Desoto 2dr coupe listed as part of an estate sale about 30 minutes from where I live. It was listed as a start on a street rod. What I found was a primered, frame clipped, front transverse suspension, pretty solid old car. The front suspension change wasn’t ideal for my purpose but it was better than the rotting frame I had for my 41 Coupe. The bidding was dead and the car was mine. As I’m loading up the misc. parts that went with the car a lady taps me on the shoulder and ask if I would be interested in a 48 Desoto 4dr parts car. A few days later my 47 parts car now has a 48 parts car. Since I’ve been looking a few years for a frame to fit my 41 I had already done my homework. I know with what’s left of my 41 frame I can make the 48 4dr frame work. Just like Mick Jagger said “you can’t always get what you want but if you try sometime you just might find ……”.

Another happy piece of this puzzle; as I’m cashing out at the auction they hand me a title to the 1947 2dr, the title status was not listed in the sale bill. And for my original purpose I didn’t care. They give me a clear, Indiana, 1958 title. Apparently the previous owner never titled the 1947 2dr coupe but the estate had all the paperwork I needed to make the BMV content. I held off a couple of weeks in posting this, I waited until the BMV sent me the title for my 1947 Desoto. I definitely got more than I needed.

You can see the primered 47 2dr setting in my shop and if you squint just enough you can make out a little of my 41 Business Coupe on the rotisserie in the back. There’s also a pic of the 48 parts car on its way home.

Right now the fourth wishbone mount that I milled up. Might have to. Build a trike if I can’t find the misplaced piece. 6EB1453A-0B0A-4C18-8346-335946CA9B80.jpeg

The desire to have a shiny grill in my 40, but not having over $1000 to buy one, lead me to buying a second hand one that looked really good, but on receiving it, all the tabs on one half that hold it together are broken. Of course the seller had 'no idea'. So I'm now looking for half a good grille to complete this one. Even a complete good grille at an affordable price is hard to find, especially being in the UK.

1953 Buick Special upper grill bar ( mustache) with extensions. And a solid driver side door for the 1951-53 Special Riviera coupe.

I dont know if this a 53 or 54 wheel . The black plastic has held up very well and the plastic center button is very very good. I have used JB Weld to repair cracks like these in the white plastic for wheels I have done. Then epoxy black paint 1953or54wheel.jpg wheel.jpg wheel1.jpg

  13. Say @scotts52 I have a friend who deals in 33/34 dodge and Plymouth parts. Let me see if he’s got something in his parts pile.

    I found power swivel seats!

All that's left are the long rams.

    And a mirrormatic.

    And maybe cruise control.

    A/C....

This may be getting out of hand.
