401 in my 40 Ford pickup project.
Thanks I really appreciate that. I've been working on it for about 8 years so that would be a pretty boring build thread
A couple of mine, I have had the roadster for 23yrs and have been working on and off the coupe for about 10yrs. Hope to get it done this year for B-ville.
My friend Ray's '32 - we're now putting a Hilborn 4 hole injector on instead of the carbs.
my 49 merc has a 425 nailhead. Here is a pic and a utube link
My latest addition to the Hot Rod family.

Nice ride Kevin
Can't believe I just found this thread. Will post pic's of the purple 401 soon.
Keep 'er nailed
Just a photo from my garage...
...and soon things will be looking different... hmmm...
Goddamn, those are fucking sweet. And I'm not into rods at all.

WHAT´S HAPPENING?!? You took the engine off the 57?
I still have some work ahead
Yes, I pulled that engine up from my '57, gotta repair Dynaflow. It means that hotrod will be patiently waitin'...
And thanks for the latest work on a lathe!
Slow but sure, paint and upholstery left on the punch list. I plan my to have 401 nailhead-powered hiboy on the road by June!
Awesome, I can't wait to see it!!
Theres a '54 Buick special nearby. Is it worth getting it for the 264ci engine, or is that just too small to be worth using in a rod? Also, someone mentioned this car having a torque tube. Is that true?
Congrats on RJ #53. Terrific photos!!!!!
Heres my addition...
How'd I miss this thread? My favorite motor of all time. I had a 322 I let go. Looking for another here soon to put in some deuce rails with an A coupe on top.
So many awesome cars in this thread.
Here are some shots of my old Riviera's engine. Painted orange to match the pinstriping and interior motif.
Here's a shot of the nailhead I have slotted for my tall T. Needs a good detailing.
does anyone know if Russ from Centerville Auto Repair is a member here I purchased one of his bellhousing and flywheel set ups last summer and still don't have a flywheel cover everytime I talked to him he would say we should have them next week I even bought valve covers from him during one conversation about the cover he seems straight up but beginning to wonder about that cover
I do not know Russ, but having owned Nailheads for years, I certainly know of him. The man is a walking authority on nailheads and I've never heard an unkind word. It's posts like this that always concern me b/c it undermines a person's credibility among those who don't know of him. Surely there's a more productive way of finding a resolution than "outing" him on the HAMB?
401 for a rivvy or maybe a early p/u
My 55 Buick with 322Ci
I disagree the 58 Buick doesnt get enough love around here.
