my 65 c10
New art for So-Cal in Vegas
My '64 C10. Finally picture worthy. I shoulda taken some 'before' pics, didn't tho cuz I was too embarrassed that I actually bought this truck. I have since removed: The TOTALLY RAD 10" autozone steering wheel, SUPER COOL chrome skull shift knob, brown house carpet, dice for heater control knobs, 78 datsun mirrors and armrests, door speakers with wire free-aired in the jambs, BADASS harley stickers in the back window, rattle can black grille, bumper, wiper filler, door panels, glove box door, wheels, etc. Still has a ghetto hole in the dash for a radio, but I guess I can live with that...
+.060 292, SM420, 3.73 open. Shaved .080 off the head to get the compression up to 9:1, and with a pair of headers it knockin down 16-17 mpg on the highway empty.
/\ Cool truck. I like that it has a big trailer hitched to it in the photos. I dig seeing old trucks still at work.
Thanks man Your 64 is good inspiration. Trucks are made for workin/haulin race cars imo haha. Kev
Love the 292". I run one in my '39. I won't win many races, but it's a torque monster and fun to drive. With a 2.90 rear, I'm getting 21-22 mpg down the road.
That's a great looking truck Kevs56, I really like the 8" wide wheels front and rear!
Does anyone have a decent low hump tunnel cover up for grabs?
Mine is hacked!
Thanks - rg
Finally got mine all painted. Now I just need to figure out how to put it all back together after a year and half... haha!
zippeay - Nice looking truck! I like that color combo.
Thanks sir! When I said I was going to use these colors a lot of people thought I was nuts but most people seem to like it now.
getting my bed mocked up....
Wow, and here I thought I was going crazy by putting 50 Pontiac tail lights in mine... I'm going to be interested to see how that turns out. That's a ton of work! Much respect for that!
Picked this one up when I lived in Texas sure is hard to find parts in Illinois.
There are a ton of these trucks in Utah. I thought they were kid of rare until I bought mine. Now I see them everywhere. Usually they are just beater farm trucks but there are some nice ones every now and then.
Dig the '62 Buick taillights. Nice touch! Can't wait to see the back end all finished up..........E
Theres a ton of em here in CO too. Not hard to find at all. They ALL have rocker/lower door post rust here tho. It's a rare one that doesn't. I dig your shortbed! That 2 tone looks really sharp.
X2. First 60-66 i've seen cut up that I liked. Very tasteful. Nice work
Heres some locals I'm trying to own, pending funds. I don't need em, but I'm a sucker for decent original stuff. Theres 30-40 more 60-66's where these are. Some junk, some decent...
Thanks guys, glad you like it. Can't wait to finally drive this damn thing. Wish I had the funds to build a Sbc 400 like I wanted but that's going to wait. Being a Govt employee during this sequestration crap isn't helping my hot rod funds at all... I'm taking donations though! Haha jk
Tons of them down here too! Hell, the yard guy that cuts my neighbors yards uses one as a daily driver/hauler. You see tons of them just driving around and in use in Phoenix. It's always kinda surreal when I go east of here and drive around say a Midwestern town. The first thing I notice is that no one is driving old cars around...
My '62 is posted on this thread a few times. Here she is a again...
Cool picture I found of a 64 C10 pulling a dragster.
HOK root beer kandy?
You can see the same truck in the background of this image.
Cool pic I found on another forum...
Still got some body work to do on this one but I got the motor and trans in 383ci with a Muncie 4 speed
Here's a few of mine as of yesterday...
Forgot one more....
