Love the 292". I run one in my '39. I won't win many races, but it's a torque monster and fun to drive. With a 2.90 rear, I'm getting 21-22 mpg down the road.

That's a great looking truck Kevs56, I really like the 8" wide wheels front and rear!

  4. Does anyone have a decent low hump tunnel cover up for grabs?

    Mine is hacked!
    Thanks - rg

Wow, and here I thought I was going crazy by putting 50 Pontiac tail lights in mine... I'm going to be interested to see how that turns out. That's a ton of work! Much respect for that!

There are a ton of these trucks in Utah. I thought they were kid of rare until I bought mine. Now I see them everywhere. Usually they are just beater farm trucks but there are some nice ones every now and then.

Theres a ton of em here in CO too. Not hard to find at all. They ALL have rocker/lower door post rust here tho. It's a rare one that doesn't. I dig your shortbed! That 2 tone looks really sharp.

X2. First 60-66 i've seen cut up that I liked. Very tasteful. Nice work:cool:

Heres some locals I'm trying to own, pending funds. I don't need em, but I'm a sucker for decent original stuff. Theres 30-40 more 60-66's where these are. Some junk, some decent...

Thanks guys, glad you like it. Can't wait to finally drive this damn thing. Wish I had the funds to build a Sbc 400 like I wanted but that's going to wait. Being a Govt employee during this sequestration crap isn't helping my hot rod funds at all... I'm taking donations though! Haha jk

Tons of them down here too! Hell, the yard guy that cuts my neighbors yards uses one as a daily driver/hauler. You see tons of them just driving around and in use in Phoenix. It's always kinda surreal when I go east of here and drive around say a Midwestern town. The first thing I notice is that no one is driving old cars around...

Just picked up my first 60's C10 a couple weeks ago. Can't wait to lay some frame!

  28. Thanks for these - the old patina is incredible.
When folks decide to faux patina their trucks they need to look at trucks like these for examples:D

I'm not familiar with an Olds 260, but I did install an Olds 455 in my '61. I used headers for a cutlass and had to do some pie cuts around the flange to make them fit between the engine and frame. I no longer had room for the oil filter and had to go with a remote filter set up. Also, the engine mounts were positioned to avoid interference with the headers. It might be easier to just use the stock exhaust manifolds as they usually tuck in pretty close and you only need to worry about one pipe on each side. Will you be competing with that setup, or will you just be cruising, and how much difference will headers make?
