Nice.... got any more pics?
yeah! and you can include the truck in them too if you like.
My 63 is already in here but the pics. suck I got the new iPhone app and can post a better picture now.
Cool man. Is that a metal or fiberglass hood?
Thanks. It's metal I split it at the body lines and rased the center section then plated the sides
When she was on Suprems ~
How's that ~
you da man!!
Saw this truck on Los Boulevardos and it has been my screen saver for months....It is absolutely perfect!
My 65 GMC, california rust free truck turned year round daily driver in New England....
Awsome trucks guys.
really? nice work... that hood is awesome.
Damn, that looks really slick. It looks like a factory cowl induction hood, spot on!
Pease don't crucifie me but does any body know where some good 60-63 doors are? I know this should probably be in the parts wanted section, but I figured that this would be a little more direct.
Hey PrimerDave, what all is done to your truck lowering- wise?
Here's a shot of my wife's '66. We had to sell it to close on our house. She still tears up when she thinks about it. Hopefully we'll be able to build her another one in the next few years.
Brought my rig home... Now to put it back together.
its a 6-4 dropped spring kit from Brothers and the lowerd drop shocks and an extra one and a half two inch block in the back(can't remember)...oh yeah shaved the bump stops off the lower A arms....if not they hit "all" the time....
Super clean ride Dave...
Daily driven, no show all go and homebuilt... smilin' every day
Doing some more work on 64cheb's 283. Got it torn down to shortblock today, to prep for cleaning. Found an extremely stretched timing set, 3 dead plugs (may explain the poor mileage and low power? hmmm), some stuck lifters, and a completely rounded cam lobe. The pistons looked oversized, and in great shape. The bores are excellent, as are the cam bearings. No sludge whatsoever inside the motor, it was all stuck to the outside.
The timing set of SHAME:
He is going to pick up a gear-drive timing set, aluminum timing cover, and possibly headers later this week. Also going to try to find an RV cam and lifters (Isky?). Has a 4bbl manifold already waiting. It should be pretty nice, and have a ton more power.
X10!!! That thing is SICK!!!
Wow! Beautiful Truck!!! The Lady in the pic is beautiful too!!!
i think i own this truck now.
the one i bought in Kansas came fron NC...
if so here is what i have added to it
and with my sidekick
maybe not. i see the other one has a five lug and big back window.... scary how similar they are though
Did you dig that out of a oil tank or what...geez!
That timing set looks cherry compared to the one that came out of the 283 in my Suburban. It was hanging off the bottom gear and only connecting on the up-side. I could pinch the sides of the chain between the gears, and nearly lay them the whole way around the gears.
Green Mountain Boy's was even worse--his has so much slop in it, the slack came around and rubbed on the timing chain cover, wearing a small hole in it.
I wouldn't put a gear-drive timing set on yours... it's loud, which will be cool for the first 1,000 miles, and then you'll want to rip the thing off with your bare hands. But worse, it chews up a BUNCH of horsepower.
don't remember if i posted but here it is
