    thanx for the cool new posts guys. Love the assembly line pix, makes me salivate. Poor litte trucks left in the woods, but sounds like they are were loved once. Some nice parts I could sure use, door, rear bumper/brackets, and man more. To far away to lust after, LMC is closer for some repops.

    what a knockout JAC70SS. I am such a fan of subtle color schemes, the glitter and glitz of the candies and metallic stuff
    is lost to my senses. I was a body man/painter for a brief while, and learned that matching these on re-spray is near impossible. Love your approach all around on your baby.

  24. They are 64's you can tell by the fender badge. at least one is a GMC no fender badge and dual headlites. and one appears to be a C60.

  25. Ive so so much stuff ( I think I have more than 50 60 thru 66 trucks) that's its scattered in different places. Back when those where parked there wasn't a real demand for them. The 63 was a running driving truck less than 10 years old when I bought it for $450. the others where a couple hundred. I myself prefer the 64 thru 66. And I prefer the GMC to the chevy. Never liked that wrap around windshield as much. Ive collected some pristine body parts. enough to build two rust free dent free big window trucks. And If I never get around to them. Then someone else will have a chance. The GMC's have rear leaf springs.

    While doing some surfing through the HAMB I stumbled upon the 60-66 topic. I have a very unusual '64 C10 that I thought might be of interest to the readers herein;
    My '64 is a very rare Club Cab, it is a variant of the Sub's having a back seat utilizing the rear portion of a Sub and the big back window panel of a pickup. I have been told that the truck is "a Railroad Truck", a special build for the railroads. To date I have found five of these trucks located in various parts of the US.
    I put the cab on '98 Chevy C-10 Z71 extended cab chassis, complete with the steering, disk brakes, etc.. The engine is a 98 5.7 V8, trans 4L60, diff is also a 98 10 bolt.
    In order to make the chassis fit under the 64 body we had to harvest the cowl and floor pan back to the front portion of the front seats. This allowed us to use the '98 steering column, and power brake booster.

    Pretty rare truck you got there, I've often thought those would make a great race car tow vehicle. In the 60's the Suburbans were quite popular for that, one of the first ones I saw was Don Garlits' black and white one.

    Your photo prompted me to post a mod I did on my 66 Suburban.
    Someone had done a pretty sketchy quarter panel (partial) replacement many years ago, starting with a wrecking yard part and brazing it on, it had a moisture trap on the back side so was showing bubbling in the paint.
    Long story short, I got a replacement quarter for a pickup and as you know that meant dealing with the gas fill door, decided to reroute the fill location to behind the tail light.
    Was able to make room in the opening for a remote tail gate release also.

    I have always wanted a '64-66 GM Suburban, I would prefer a 1/2 ton 4x4. Have never found a decent one worth buying.
    All of the bugs are pretty well out of the truck now. Had a hard time getting all of the electronics to talk to each other. I used the original '98 ECM computer which I had re-programed to eliminate the functions I did not need with Painless Wiring looms.
    I have had a '63-66 GM pickup in my life since 1963 when I bought a new one. I sold a '66 camper special that I had for 18 years to my son, then was sorry I did that. Two years ago I bought a '66 C-10 Custom Cab fleet side with factory air, tinted windows. I was in the process of rebuilding that truck when I found the '64 RR truck. I switched my efforts to the RR truck.

    I learned to drive my brothers 64 long bed fleetside, 292/4speed, once you get the hang of those compound 4 speeds you can drive anything.
