My 64 lwb with 283 & Powerglide, got it about a month ago. Just started on the brakes, trying to get it road worthy.More than likely will be my daily.

I've had a few of these trucks (65&66) 1/2 ton to 1 ton and always thought the front bumper looked like it was mounted upside down. I often thought about flipping mine but never got around to it. Anybody done that?

I have never flipped them, but one thing I could not get used to on my 66 Suburban is the big factory gap between the bumper and the filler panel. I cut down the factory frame/bumper horns and tucked the bumper closer to the grill by about an inch.
Sorry, no digital photos available right now.

I figured that flipping the bumper over would match the angle of the fenders and grill surround.

Just got back from a 1500 mile road trip in my 62 C10

Pittsburgh (Youngwood) PA to Charleston SC to Savannah (Hinesville) GA and back in five days

Not completely without incident but nothing major - so build it and drive it

I flipped my rear, but not the front... they mount directly to the frame and it's shaped exactly to the profile of the bumper. You'd probably have to cut the frame horns and flip flop them from one side to the other.

Here is my gal Verla Kay, improving every year. Nice 350/350, lowering springs, Firestone classic deluxe champion bias plys, upholstered seat, art gallery in cab, new exhaust with cut outs, replaced bed wood. Love this truck my last project and keeping her forever.

    Sorry
Not much since those shots as this project has been relegated to "back burner" status.
