Chuck, you beat me to it by about 2 mins!
Gang , you don't need a fast car for this event, just one that is within reason on safety!
If you have a seat belt, a helmet, and either a metal floor or firewall between the passenger cabin and the fuel tank, you'll be most likely OK'd to run.
We always have a good time after the drags with a big cookout on the communal grill Jimmy rings over (it's huge, bring charcoal!). Lot's of folks pitch a tent or whatever and spend the night, saves you from worrying about a DUI!
Always lot's of fun and lots of hot rods and customs to see! YALL COME!!!!!!!!!!!

Polecat, why are you out? If you're referring to the fuel tank stuff, I doubt that would apply in a speedster type car like yours as there is no passenger cabin!
When we get just a little further along in setting this up you need to send either Jimmy or Ed (the track owner) a pic of your car along with the info that it's a basically stock banger and I'll bet he'll say bring it!

As I stated earlier, camping Sat. night is an o0ption and there's a nearby porta potty. The grill Jimmy brings over (on wheels) is huge and there's always room to put your stuff on it, bringing a charcoal contribution is appreciated, it's a big grill and likes charcoal!
The SFCC and friends are setting up a communal evening meal menu, if you wanta join us in this, come visit us on SFCC social group ( the open one,not the restricted admission one). Breakfast Sunday am has not yet been discussed. Dunno if Reynolds has a restaurant for Sun am breakfast. We fixed a helluva breakfast Sun am at Dixie Fried year before last and everyone but Stealth Cruiser enjoyed it. He was still sleep[ing off the night before!

  13. Last time I made it down, we wandered the back roads in the morning and found a cool old greasy spoon place. We need to go home that way again.

  15. Man I hope I can get my car done in time. Please don't worry about any special breakfast. If Tony looses his contacts, he is not usually in the mood for waffle house after one of these events.

How far is this from Charlotte? I guess I could do a mapquest. That would be awesome to hit up this event on the 23rd with the rest of the Lords and then Good Guys the next weekend.

I want all you Sockfuckers up here for Good Guys too!!!!

Tony, do you remember which route you took hame? "Backroads" could mean heading West on GA 96 to Butler and hwy US19 thru Thomaston and Griffin and on up US41/19 towards metro ATL.; North would be GA128 to Roberta, then US 341 to Barnesville, then either US41 to Griffin and so on or GA36 to I75 and up. Heading East out of Reynolds on GA96 would send you thru Fort Valley and on to I 75 to East or North on US 341 to Barnesville thru Roberta and so on.
Jeffry James, when, where is Good Guys the next weekend?

  19. I think breakfast at the track might be best (for me) since y'all (SFCC) would probably not be heading home in my direction Sunday morning.

As I said on the earlier, most everybody enjoyed the bkfst we had @ Dixie Fried a couple years ago, all but Chuck who was still sleeping it off! Only thing, he had a sack full of potatoes we forgot to fix. That's the bkfst when Amber and I did the cooking and also where the pic was snapped of Kim tying the apron on me!
I've still got all the stuff we used to cook that morning and we can do it again the same way if everyone wants that.
Just talked to Brett on phone, he thinks MAYBE they were in Butler when they ate bkfst and that IS the wrong way for you!Dave

  21. Hot Dogs are good for breakfast - assuming they are still in the cooler!

  22. Hey Jeffrey. Its a haul, but it would be cool to meet up north of Atl and all drive down in a pack. Its a good time for sure.

  23. that's not even the right way for y'all... if that's how they went home last time they must have been taking the very scenic route.

I went home via Butler last year when the rain chased most of us off, and considering the road from Butler to Griffin being all 4 lane, it was as good a way to go as thru Roberta, but neither one is good for you, Todd

I was planning on going to Lakeland FL for the Billetproof drags that weekend, but Reynolds sure is alot closer and the coupe could make the trip. Might have to rethink this one!

  26. 24 miles to the track and as many 1/4 mile trips as you can stand...:)

I might actually try to make this. Have the truck all done and trying to get my friend from up north to head down too. (Deyomatic)

  28. The truck is all done! Alright! Wait - did you put a falcon engine in it? Let's see some pictures! Glad to hear you might make it. How's the 57?

Right now it has a really bad ass sounding, slow as hell 305 in it, with a 700-r4 behind it. Plans are a 327 or 383 down the road. Still haven't decided.
Falcon is sold... Actually made money on it too. Almost double. Pretty much all went into the truck.
57 is not well. The motor is giving me hell for some reason. When I parked it, it was fine, but now it pops like hell when you get on the gas. I will be pulling it and re-timing it when it cools down a bit.
