First thing I did to it was put on a set of new wheels that yellow is not gonna cut it so I got a pair of red ones that came off a old bike and filled the tires and it looked perfect and put the sissy bar and fork back on it to see what it will look like and it was the best thing I saw thru this whole pandemic IMG_20200802_053224_682.jpeg

After a day or two I went and sanded almost the whole frame like my dad said in one night (the picture was when I first started sanding) IMG_20200726_220720_01.jpeg

If you want to paint bikes, check out the late Roger Cassano from SoCal. He was known as paint by RAJA.
Good luck to you and remember that preparation is the key.

Go for it, and show us what's going on with the bike. I hope you get some
good tips to help keep you interested. You sound like a go-getter.

Uh,oh! You have started down the tortured path of those that modify things that have wheels. Model cars, bikes, maybe a dirt bike, a car, motorcycle and before you know it you can’t move in the garage.
Stick with it Vinny, you are off to a good start. Read, listen and learn, it will serve you well and some day the new guys will be looking to you for advice.

Be aware that sanding tubes and other non flat surfaces with a flat disc can result in flat spots in the finish.
Try wrapping sand paper around the tube and sanding length wise.
When I was your age I repainted my bike about every week. The last color was Honduras Maroon. Chrome acorn nut covers, a chrome chain guard painted white inside, front fender moved to the back and the first set of ape hanger bars in town finished the look. Have fun!

Best thing you can do is start hanging around local body shops. See if they’re looking for someone to help out . It’s amazing what you learn being around guys that do any trade professionally.

That's not a bad choice at all, even with four doors, so a Pontiac would also work.
Chevys up to 1954 look fine with four doors. Good luck. And keep working
    on that bike.

Vinny says tomato, you say tomahto.
I have no idea how many members the HAMB has but I bet not even 2% can tell a 1950 from a ‘51 Chevrolet.

I completely finished the chain guard and the bike is not gonna go in the paint booth by next week. But I'll do the chain guard and just base it off that. 1598393772882.jpeg 1598393785906.jpeg
