The wind shield is steel. It is the car in my avatar, yes. I have done threads on the spesific parts, but not a thread for the car alltogether, because it is not very HAMB friendly. Aluminum rims, Mustang II IFS, Jaguar IRS, Chevy small block with fabricated "race" valve covers modern seats with headrests etc etc.

'27 Essex dash with a So-Cal finned aluminum gauge insert. The shapes just don't match up very well.

    A little massaging and re-shaping...

The insert is sunk in so just the fins stick up. Once I finish welding and molding the edge I think it will look pretty cool.

Alright, you're officially out of my league. I simply cannot risk you being seen talking to a cretin like me. I will tuck my tail between my legs and go away.

PS, I broke out in a cold sweat over your coupe all weekend looking at the pics. I hope to see it at the Showdown, Roundup, or Race Of Gentlemen this year.

    D Rods dash is awesome!
I regret selling the left hand drive dash that came with my project. I should have done something like that instead.

Thanks Barry! I'd hoped to have it ready for the Super Run in Brandon this summer, but that's not going to happen. Maybe in a couple more years.

That's got quite a Teutonic feel, like one would expect the car to have heavy landau irons. I like it.

For my 1932 Plymouth Model PB roadster, I didn't want to cut my original dash. Williams Hot Rods in Humboldt, IL, made me an engine-turned insert that has the same finish as the original insert, but can house modern gauges. I decided on Omega Kustom black-faced gauges as shown here. They are made in USA and appear to be nicely finished.

Gents, I have a question. I have a 59 dash in my 50 Chev Ambulance. The gage housings have like a rubber gasket around them to prevent scratching the dash where the meet up. Any idea what this is called, or where I would get some? Here's a link to a couple of my dash pics.

    Thnaks!

Ford pickups 57-66 had that same stuff around the cluster panel, might look through Mac's Antiques in the ford pickup section and can probably find it!
